Off the backs off two made free throws by a student manager (I’m not kidding), NIU hoops just upset Toledo at Toledo

This team is so bad but somehow we win one MAC game every season we have no business winning. Amos, Nutter, and Gebrewhit (three of our top 4 point scorers) and three other scholarship players not playing tonight.

Burno just said that Yanic almost didn't play tonight (so we would have been missing 7 scholarship players) due to ankle issues but he asked him to try to give at least 7 mins. He said he's not sure he will play in the next game either.

I get the vibes are really bad around the hoops program and athletic department as a whole right now, but I still haven’t totally given up on Burno. This roster has plenty of talent if they aren’t raided by the portal this offseason. Would have been nice to see how this season went without all the injuries.

Same - hopefully can retain the talent and fill some of the holes in the roster.

Of course, the night 1 game out of 17 games I just checked out of NIU basketball.

While a few guys can score sometimes they have been just horrible on defense. They’re a fouling machine and until that changes it will be a bad season. They lost plenty of games with Amos and Nutter playing

Unbelievable. Forget about recruiting. The coaches should start watching IM games and have tryouts in the late spring and early fall every year.
