MyBB Tulane Green Wave
UAB (130) at Tulane (126), Sunday 25 February 2024

KenPom has it UAB 80 - Tulane 84.

Tulane is 13-12 and 4-9. Back on January 3rd, they beat Rice (178) by 25. The Green Wave are 10-4 at home.

Best win - Memphis (81), 81-79
Worst loss - UTSA (288), 89-88
Best player - Kevin Cross (6-8 230)

Eight of their 12 losses have come against KenPom Top 100 teams, such as
Bradley, Mississippi State, George Mason, North Texas, FAU, etc.

I know it is said too often, but this Tulane team is much better than their record indicates. I thought UAB’s home win over Tulane, 83-69, was an impressive victory. I told people UAB just beat a good team.

Beating Tulane on the road, after the disastrous Rice game, will be extremely difficult.

Yep this will be a really tough one. It will say a lot about the character of the team.

RE: Tulane Green Wave
Having lost 9 of their last 12, one would think they are spiraling. Their 3 game losing streak after beating Memphis were all 1 or 2 possession losses. Snapped that streak at home vs temple in OT. Then started another 3 game skid where they’ve lost 2 of 3 by double digits. Latest was at ECU.

Expectations would be to go in there and win by 5-7.

now accounting for AK trying to hit home to the fans that he has no ability to draw emotions from this team or motivate them, who the heck knows how we’ll respond?….

Door still wide open for top 4 seed

Regarding the previous game against Tulane -

Tulane had 1 offensive rebound that game. One! They are one of the worst offensive rebounding teams in the country. Why? Because they often play 6’8” Kevin Cross at point guard.

Given up all hope of JD ever really learning to play without fouling. JD has had some great games but he really shouldn't be a starter or counted on for a lot of minutes. Ideally he would be coming off the bench for about 12-15 minutes a game

We were right to be concerned about making a career 3rd big our starting center.

8-0 Tulane run in 1:20 of game time when we got up ten.

#cantholdalead

Glad we at least showed up to play though. That has to say something I think. You can’t take just showing up for granted with this team.

RE: Tulane Green Wave
Most teams would be happy when they’re up 10. Usually means you’re playing well. But an 8-10+ pt lead is our kryptonite. We turtle up and turn into a different team every time.

When we actually show up or don’t quit mid game, the team seems to do best in a sweet spot of +4 to -4. Anytime we get up much more than that, we forget how to play basketball

Ortiz knocks down a 3 and there's an offensive foul away from the ball. This all after a missed alley oop.

RE: Tulane Green Wave
Hustling. A bit more crisp offensively.

Clean up the middle stuff like the errant passes and we should hang on.
