BCS Rankings, 7+5 Playoff
The BCS years (1998-2013) featured 6 power conference and up to 11 total conferences at any given time. With the current playoff now at a 5+7 with 4 power conferences, what if a 12-school playoff were enacted with the BCS poll at a 7+5 format? 7 autobids assures each power conference gets a spot (essentially allowing for the regionality of the sport to thrive in the postseason) and during the first half of the BCS years, each power conference won at least once. The 2nd half of the BCS belonged to the SEC, however.

Now down to the playoffs. I am assuming the same formatting with:
- Top 4 ranked conference champions having a bye to the quarterfinals.
- First round played at home.
- Second and third rounds played in New Years' Six bowls.
- I am back-tracking the rotation of the semifinals from the CFP era.
- The rankings are the playoff seeding and the higher BCS ranked school with a shared title gets the autobid.
- Schools with an asterisk (*) are assumptions because there weren't enough ranked conference champions.
- Parentheticals indicate conference champion autobid.

Yeah, when computer algorithms were part of the equation. If we had the current CFP committee back then, Boise and TCU would've never cracked the top 8, let alone the top 4.
