First place? 02-13-banana

BTW, it isn't really valid to assess a northern team playing Southern teams in February.

I never expect a winning OOC record in baseball. Baseball is so much different than CFB and MBB and WBB.

only BSU Has a winning or winning non-conference record.

https://getsomemaction.com/standings.aspx?path=baseball

Truth! The last snow-plow state to win the College World Series was OSU, just a few years ago in freaking 1966!

Teams like UofM, OSU, etc which do well in CFB don't replicate.

Would a h.s. star from CA or FL or TX want to come north????

That's where NIL comes in.

Dan, you were right about NIL on a lot of issues, and I admittedly was dead wrong. NIL has kept a bunch of guys playing in the NCAA. Zach Edey, for example. Late round draft picks as well. You were right and I did not see it.

That said, NIL money is a finite resource even at uber rich northern schools like U-M and OSU. If I were a rich donor, why would I plug my money into baseball with its competitive disadvantages instead of basketball or football?

RE: Baseball season
The weather for Tuesday's home opener against U of M looks cool and very windy. I've put out some benches on the third base side. I suggest anyone coming to the game to dress in several layers the wind will be brutal. Should see a lot of home runs on the plus side. The bleachers offer no protection from the wind in fact it makes it worse my opinion. The tunnels are like funnels stay clear of them when it's windy. Hopefully I'll see you there.04-rock07-coffee3

Pitching will obviously be a recruiting priority.

Thanks, Frank, for letting us know. In the days of Oak and Coryell, this was would have been ho-hum news. Today it is not, and I love hearing it.

I remember when I was in school the baseball team had a trophy case of baseballs for each time they beat Blue. Then Oestrike and Coryell started doing it on a regular basis.

Double header against western. Lost first game 8-3 pitching let use down but we came in the rubber game winning 3-0. The first complete game shutout in 10-15 years! Only gave up 3 hits! Cold game but well worth it!04-cheersCOGS

I mean the answer to this question is easy : because you - a rich guy - loves baseball more than football and basketball. I personally love baseball way more than basketball. If i won the powerball i'd pimp our the baseball team way before i did the basketball team.

Baseball season
The boys gave up 4 runs in the 1st 2 innings then rallied for the 5-4 win with 2 in the bottom of the 9th. Wins over CMU are special.

5-2 in the MAC.
