Byington vs his former employer
Coach gets to break the tie tonight. He was 1-1 vs Ga Southern last year winning at home and losing on the road.
The Eagles are turrible this year and embarrassed the Sun Belt with an 0-13 OOC record.

They launch 3’s on almost half of their FG attempts so the defensive game plan will surely be to overplay the 3 and force them inside the arc. Their defense is about as bad as it gets which should lead to free nuggets tonight.

JMU 88
Ga Southern 3

1-38 from downtown to avoid the shutout.

Well certainly not a good sign that Fatt was part of senior day. Anyone heard anything about that anywhere?

We are SLOW rotating back to the 3 point shooter. I almost think we shouldnt help and just live with giving up a drive here and there.

My hope is he is academically a senior and is graduating this spring. Doesn’t mean he can’t come back, but a senior by all means.

Xavier Brown should take no more than 2 shots a game.
33% FG
30% 3
61.5% FT

Teams just let him chuck because he can’t shoot.

Saw the schools X account send out a message about Senior Day and had a picture of him, I immediately wondered if my mind was playing tricks on me as I thought we had him another season. With 6 others moving on this team needs Edwards far more than this year. Guess we will have another Kiki situation of a senior leaving for NIL and/or a bigger stage, at least Coach By has more advance notice.

That was ugly offense. Only 35 points against a really bad defense. It has to get better n the 2nd half and result in a blowout.
Defense is fine and mostly taking away 3’s.

This team had plenty of new components and it is one of the best in JMU history. Might hate Byington’s style but it is easy to pickup if you have talent.

Starters are shooting 2-14
Subs are helping the cause, shooting 7-13
About as bad as we can play in a half and we’re still up 6.
Get it together in 2nd half, win by 20 and move on.

Game is closer than it needs to be.

Seems like we aren’t playing bad, but not great either.

Almost like the team feels like they can just turn it on the last four minutes and win.

That’s a dangerous way to live by.

Pretty sure Terrance will be starting his pro career next B year. From what I understand he wanted his degree but wants to be done with school at that point. Don’t think he will be going to any other school but most likely G league or Rurope.

RE: Byington vs his former employer
Odd that in his post game interview he said something to the effect “I don’t want to leave, they making me leave”, like he has no eligibility left. He can certainly enroll in a grad program and come back for next season, but certainly sounds like he’s undoubtedly gone.
