Three suspects arrested after 1 dead, at least 22 shot at Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade: police

Quote:The Kansas City Police Department has taken three people into custody after a deadly shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade on Wednesday, which left one person dead and at least 22 others injured.

The police department updated the public on the incident in a press briefing and said that it remains an active investigation. Authorities did not provide additional information on the three detained individuals.

The deceased individual has not yet been identified and authorities are working on making an identification in order to notify the family.

Chaos unfolded around 3 pm near Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri, after multiple gunmen fired shots during the parade celebration to honor the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory over the San Franciso 49ers.

Kansas City Police immediately informed the public to vacate the area.

"Shots have been fired around Union Station. Please leave the area," the department wrote on X. "Shots were fired west of Union Station near the garage and multiple people were struck."

Video footage taken during the parade shows law enforcement officers running into Union Station while parade participants scurry out of the location.

A witness described the incident to Sam McDowell, a sports columnist for the Kansas City Star, and said: "I thought it was fireworks. It sounded like a ton of very rapid succession very quick shots. I'd say 15 to 20 in a very short amount of time."

"A lot of people scattered in confusion," the witness said.

Read one report that hospitals were treating 9 children for gunshot wounds.

There should be something added to the coming sentences for these animals.

KC, 22 people injured, one killed, and will be adjudicated and forgetton in a week (except for the victims, perps, and families).

Would be interesting to see what arrests are made and what sentences they get compared to J6, but we all know that answer already.

So, what started as a celebration of the Chiefs Super Bowl win deterioriated into a gang shootout in an extremely target rich environment.

The parents of the 12 children who were injured in the gang shootout have got to be absolutely furious.
