Yeah, it's the Defensive Coordinator's fault that his unit gave up 19 whole points in regulation to Pat Mahomes and co. Shanahan needs to look in the mirror and learn the OT rules methinks.

Beat me to it. I love how people overreact to a heartbreaking or humiliating loss. It's exactly why I predicted Matt Painter would potentially lose his job for losing to yet another double digit seed. It's all he's done since Covid and not just double digit seeds but school's with 1/100 or less of their resources (guestimating, don't make me look stupid). Not because he isn't a great coach but because people overreact in the heat of the moment.

The OT rules were irrelevant. If Shanahan didn't trust his defense, he should have settled for FG's at the end of regulation and the beginning of OT.
