Almost every other country is going thru the same moral decay. Russia has by far the highest alcoholism rate, aging population that isn't reproducing enough to replace those dying, has a **** healthcare system and no significant industry besides producing commodities.
China is rapidly aging out with a horrid birth rate that won't come close to replacing those who died. They have a ridiculously massive real estate bubble, huge debt like the USA and a huge capital flight problem if their people are allowed to invest outside of China. Also the youth are "lying flat" and not trying to work to the levels of previous generations.
We already know the general decay in NATO countries in Europe.
Out of all regions in the world - the most shocking place that seems to have never built a strong regional power who could threaten to become a major player on the world stage is the continent of Africa. A continent with massive resources yet continue to try to kill each other in tribal warfare to this day.
The whole world seems to have major problems - all happening at once. Not a single country out there looks like it's the next ascendant power. I think the biggest takeaways from all this are 1) nothing lasts forever and 2) nothing is ever truly hopeless either so long as there are people out there who will use critical thinking skills to solve problems.

None of the generations are monoliths. I assume you come from the same highly cynical and skeptical generation as I did. Hell I know all of your Putin and Russia threads are "studies in cynicism". I engage and take positions anyways to pass the time primarily though I do believe what I write too - though not necessarily as strongly as I may come across. Like I said - it passes the time.
I have GenZ kids and I can tell you it's a mixed bag. All of them are/will be productive. One is apolitical, one is definitely center right and one is currently more progressive but is moving towards center left. No worries about any of them politically because at the end of the day they'll have the critical thinking skills to discern logical positions from purely political/pandering positions. You can only take them so far, and once they are on their own then they'll have to navigate their way to the best of their abilities given the skills my wife and I tried to give them.

Is reading comprehension failing? I stated that past generations built this country. The Boomers got the most benefit out of it, but the decline starts with them because apparently a lot of their offspring weren’t taught what their parents taught them. You forget the Hippies so easily.
But, the Boomers pale in comparison to the last two generations. These ingrates expect government entitlements and vote accordingly. Bottom line is work ethic and moral decay along with a sense of entitlement has gotten us to the point where younger folks do not believe they should even have to work. Heck, they don’t even marry and live at home into their thirties with their aging parents still paying their way. This is not an isolated example.

Seriously though, boomers have the same warts and problems like all other generations. The only thing that saved the GI generation was a massive war. Major adversities shape generations for the positive generally. When you have decades of no real problems - we'll invent ones for ourselves to solve.
