SecDef Lloyd Austin Rushed to Hospital With 'Emergent Bladder Issue,' Says Pentagon
Quote:U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has reportedly been taken by his Secret Service detail to a hospital Sunday afternoon, the Pentagon confirms in a statement it released minutes ago, after he exhibited an "emergent bladder issue," according to an X post by a Fox News producer:

The Pentagon has now released a full statement, which can be read here:

The statement, from Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, reads:

Today, at approximately 2:20 pm, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III was transported by his security detail to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to be seen for symptoms suggesting an emergent bladder issue. The Deputy Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have been notified. Additionally, White House and Congressional notifications have occurred.

At this time, the Secretary is retaining the functions and duties of his office. The Deputy Secretary is prepared to assume the functions and duties of the Secretary of Defense, if required. Secretary Austin traveled to the hospital with the unclassified and classified communications systems necessary to perform his duties.

We will provide an update on Secretary Austin's condition as soon as possible.

This news comes after Foggy Bottom was mired in recent controversy over Austin appearing to ignore the basic chain of command protocols, when he previously underwent surgery several months ago.

Prolly acute urinary retention from his recent prostate surgery, I’m sure he has a leg bag on and his catheter is clogged from blood clots, sediment and/or infection, it’s a bad spot to be in and it is an emergency that is fairly common for several weeks post op, 16 yr ER nurse here.

Wonder who the next Sec Def will be? He can't perform the job. We have troops under fire overseas

Does he have the best medical staff treating him, or the most diverse?

Amazingly, the level of knowledge and competency for the office the Secretary of Defense will show no deviation from its current abysmal level.

Well, if I had any question about a procedure to open up my urethra so I could once again become I.P. Freely this may have resolved that issue. I don't even want to take the meds the doc prescribed to treat my enlarged prostate. I peed blood for a week or two after they biopsied mine.

But seriously, what can you tell me about Dutasteride?? I really really really don't want to take it but I started yesterday. What happens if I don't take it, aside from my prostate not shrinking? At 67 I think I'd rather risk dying from prostate cancer than to live miserably. Or am I being a drama queen about it?

He apparently should've worn that get-up lower to shield from infection.

Yes, he's done enough damage and the Ol' Foggy admin needs to do some damage control...if that's possible. DEI certainly didn't help those poor soldiers that died in Afghanistan. Too late for that.
