Kiffin is gonna have a fabulous team due to transfer portal
Word on the street is Arch Manning will eventually be there

They're fine as lower-mid program in a 14-team SEC. Every conference needs those.
But when talking about the top 30-ish programs in the country, they are not on the list.

Plus how long will he be there?

He’s making 9+ million per year & the school has a ridiculous NIL budget, so what motivation is there for him to leave? Florida may be a job he’d consider, but Ole Miss seems like a perfect fit for Kiffin.

There’s always something better. Plus another shot at the nfl. Guys like him have a big ego.

He could have taken the Auburn job, which is considered a better job than Ole Miss. I just think the NIL has changed the landscape & as long as Ole Miss has deep pocketed boosters willing to pay for the players needed then there’s no reason to move on. If the NFL calls, I think he’d leave.

Nothing good for us.

Looks like it will be decided before the stadium is done and before we make any move up.

We're too late. Again. Might be the last ship.

I think part of the answer will depend on how the break occurs. There has been some mention of a football only break with the best 30-40 programs being in a premier league setup. If that's the case, it would be totally different than a split based on schools. Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, and North Carolina would not be in a premier football league. But, a split by sport only could potentially get around some of the title 9 implications, and could maybe get around any legal battles about athletes being employees. The football team athletes would be employees in a professional league, while all other athletes would still be student athletes.

Ultimately, something like that makes the most sense. What is unfortunate is that with losing the football scholarships that will allow schools to eliminate some 80ish female scholarships off their books...

The ante will be paying athletes wages, covering healthcare, etc. Either you're in or out. Some who are currently in may opt out. Others who are outside will certainly opt in. B10 and SEC certainly have a leg-up with the money they're raking in. But it won't be just them. Memphis has said they want in on that new division.

The rest will probably be more traditional - conferences, tournaments, reasonable NIL, etc. Who knows - things may even go back to how they were if some of the big time greed is removed.

I agree. If/when there is a breakaway it will be the B1G, SEC, Big 12, ACC, Big East(for the basketball), Notre Dame and in my opinion a "new" Pac-12 that will include the best of the MWC and the AAC. That way Oregon State and Washington State can be brought along while the G5 will be further gutted.
