But I can see him as a consistent 9-10 ppg or 5-6 rpg in a year or two. So not too far off of what Nickle is saying.

Billingsley for example, he played well in the Miami game on 1/13, which led to his starting ever since. His stats over those 8 games were 23.5 min, 9.6 ppg, 5.75 rpg. So not mind blowing, but I think we all value that improvement especially if he can keep it up. Martynov is a year behind him, can he get there too? It is at least conceivable, imo. Time will tell I guess.

Heath had a solid big man in Njie. Too bad he didn't stay. Our front court guys would be great bench options. Unfortunately they are starting. Jihad has overachieve. Randle is still a big question mark. Geeter and Billingsley have lived up to their high recruiting ranking. Martynov is raw and a question mark. Some of you are still waiting for the pumpkins to become carriages.

The reality is we have an EMU roster that will win maybe 5 games. As Jerry pointed out our roster is slow afoot less Acuff and out of position which is why we foul too much. Less talent equals more fouls just like in football less talent equals more penalties (ie g this years team)
So the unequal number of fouls against Eastern isn't because of some weird vendetta the MAC refs have against us as Ken suggested? I think your theory makes more sense.

To be clear, Acuff is competent with regards to quicks, but he is playing 40 minutes a game, while the guy he guards is much fresher. I suspect this has contributed to his recent lower shooting percentage. Lovejoy has been off the charts on defense. He is playing nearly the whole game as well and is clearly our BEST defender. I deeply appreciate what both have done this year. Detroit guys. They are why I still attend games.

But do they stay with EMU next year or move on? By the way re our bigs most games this season we have out rebounded. I agree that Lovejoy has really turned it up in January and Acuff has been a joy to watch all season long.

I would guess they both hit the portal. Stan seems to ride Lovejoy a lot and I don't sense by reading Orlando's facial expressions that they have warm and fuzzy relationship. That, of course, is my feeling as I claim zero inside information.
