FAKE NEWS! [old thread title: Caleb Mills will be back soon]
Word on the street is that, Caleb has been telling Penny and others that he will get to play before the AAC tournament, and everyone seemed shocked by his news. I believe he will be ready to go by that time, but we will see?

Would be nice if he can make it back and finish his last year on the court. I don’t see how he would actually be recovered from that injury in time to be able to play on it though.

I think I’ve heard that, he told Penny that he will be back soon, and Penny looked at him and “said what”? He repeated it. That’s what I’m hearing that he will be ready.

I'd be shocked. But he did look much more mobile this past week.

I really do hope that's true but on the other hand I'd hate for him to rush back and re-injure himself causing him longer term issues down the road. Assume he's planning on playing pro either stateside or more than likely in Europe/Asia.

RE: Caleb Mills will be back soon
I had a fairly similar injury to his. Patella subluxation and fractured patella with tear of the medial patellofemoral ligament and the medial collateral ligament. I was going through rigorous PT for about 6 months before I was cleared to even run. And I wasnt cleared to play sports for another 2 months. Even then, I had major knee instability without a huge brace. Still wear a brace when I play sports.

Granted I am not a 23 year old D1 basketball player but I was in very good shape at the time. Soccer twice a week, 20 miles running a week, 3 powerlifting sessions. Say his age and conditioning quicken his timeline by half you are still looking at almost 5 months recovery until he can get on the practice court and probably another 2 months before he is in any type of game shape. At best.

He aint coming back.

This is from the Memphis Tigers Basketball Facebook group.........

Shared with permission from Jason Munz. If Munz reports it, it is true.

“Been getting quite a few messages about a post made on a message board about Caleb Mills.

Apparently, the post was made by someone claiming that Caleb will be able to play again this season. Apparently, according to this message boarder, "before the AAC tournament."

This could not be any further from the truth. Caleb Mills will not play basketball for Memphis again this season. Furthermore, contrary to what this message board post purports, he is not going around telling people that he will be.

Hopefully, this clears up any and all confusion.”

Ya, I asked a buddy who is an orthopedic surgeon and he said based on the injury described and surgery there is no way he is playing bball by March.

A local reliable reporter says Calab is not telling Penny or anyone else that info.
