Carl. A freshman with athleticism and a quick motor that actually has good metrics. The issue with Pennys kids isn’t effort or intelligence. It’s athleticism. They aren’t quick enough physically to play at this level in huge minutes.

RE: Who would you give most minutes?
This is a tough one, but since we are flailing to figure out what's next:

Cherenfant
Pierre
Ashton
Jayden

Cherenfant has the best efficiency ratings and as stated above the best athleticisim.

Pierre needs some more development and catching up to the game, but he also has the lowest scoring efficiency of this bunch.

Ashton has the best scoring efficiency of this group, however, he has some of the worst efficiencies overall.

As for Jayden, his greatest attributes are he is better at maintaining D and keeping his head in the game, BUT sometimes takes bad shots and makes odd decisions.

Ashton is the only one of these who has a chance at hitting threes for the most part (34%). Others are at 22% or less.

So good and bad in all parts. But I'd keep giving Carl some minutes. It might pay off sooner rather than later. And we need all the sooner that we can get.

RE: Who would you give most minutes?
Easy answer.

Players who try to rebound and defend:
Carl
Pierre

Players who can't be bothered to rebound or defend:
Jayden
Ashton

Carl/Pierre gave more effort in the last game than either of the Hardaways have all year. Incredible what talented players look like when given a chance.

RE: Who would you give most minutes?
Jayden. Rebounds and plays defense. Hits a few shots too. He knows what he's doing. Carl is struggling. Ashton is soft. And Piere ... Well he's got a lot to learn about D 1 basketball. I'm not saying he needs lots of minutes, but. Same with Jaylon Young. I don't know what to think of Jordan Brown. Slow ... Soft ... He's sloft.
Anyway, Jayden is the answer to this question. 07-coffee3

RE: Who would you give most minutes?
Jayden in crunch time. Low ceiling but he usually won't screw up. He will do what the coaches want and won't go rogue. He's been there more then the youngstas.
Over the course of the season, prolly Carl and Ashton.
I've seen nothing from JP that indicates he deserves more minutes. He hustles, but he's lost much of the time.

RE: Who would you give most minutes?
Jayden is the only one who should be playing significant minutes. With the talent this team has if Penny substituted judiciously there could be 7 or 8 minutes of mop up every game. Playing everybody all game is the reason so many games go down to the final seconds.

Agree.
But Penny would sub her out for Ashton after she nailed 3 in a row from the logo.

These Jayden answers are wild. He is last on our team in nearly every statistical category and only gets bumped up a spot by Ashton on some. He offers absolutely nothing.

RE: Who would you give most minutes?
Per 40 minutes, best to worst:
Points - Ashton, Jayden, JP, Carl
Rebounds - Carl, JP, Jayden, Ashton
Assists - Carl, JP, Ashton, Jayden
TO's - Carl, Jayden, Ashton, JP
Fouls - JP, Jayden, Carl, Ashton
FG% - Jayden, Ashton, Carl, JP
3% - Ashton, Jayden, JP, Carl
FT% - Carl, Jayden, Ashton, JP

Pretty close between Carl and Jayden. Advanced metrics tend to favor Carl. Ashton is too 1-dimensional, but is not a bad option if you need someone and you're playing catch-up. JP still needs work.

RE: Who would you give most minutes?
First, none of them should be playing many minutes at all or collectively.

Ashton and Carl have the most to offer and the most upside. Carl is athletic but offers very little offensively. Ashton has the potential to be a great shooter but offers very little defensively. I guess it would be a toss up between them depending on the needs of a specific game.

Jahvon Quinerly, David Jones, Jaykwon Walton, Nicholas Jourdain and Nae'Qwan Tomlin — played almost exclusively down the stretch in the win. They erased the Shockers' 14-point lead with 7:55 to go and eked out the 65-63 win thanks to Jones' jumper with two seconds remaining.

RE: Who would you give most minutes?
Of those 4, Jayden is clearly the most prepared to play. His lack of athleticism is offset by his experience. He plays defense at an acceptable level as a sub, his shot selection is usually pretty good, and he makes an acceptable level.

He rarely gets caught out of defensive position.

Carl is the most athletic, and should get minutes for developmental reasons. His body, quickness, and want to all say he needs minutes.

Ashton is to slow and is a defensive liability.

JP needs for the game to slow down for him. He is out of his league at this point, but might develop.

Those 5 plus Malco, Brown & Young and should be playing close to 100% of the minutes.

Pierre reminds of that Tiger player we had maybe 7-10 years ago (a white guy) who could hit threes in practice but could never ever get it going in a game...can't remember his name, maybe played under Pastner?

Drew Barham was one of many.
JP is just not ready for the speed of D1 yet. I think he has another 1-2 years of eligibility though.
