The 2-3 zone that slows Memphis down or any other zone
Should we go with Jordan Brown when it slows down? Play the in and out game? I think we should. That would help score some points. It’s rather called the high-low game, if I’m correct? Would it work to get them back to man to man? Or should we go to both running and gunning, and to insert the high-low post and play both throughout the rest of the way? Why not have both with Jordan Brown? Success?

RE: The 2-3 zone that slows Memphis down or any other zone
We used to have an effective offense against the 2-3… bringing a big up to the FT line & working a high/low game… we didn’t need JB to run that offense.
What doesn’t work against the 2-3 zone is iso and waiting for 1 player to drive or shoot.

Yes, we used to have an offense for that, but didn’t we use Brown in Mizzou for a slower pace offense? Didn’t we get slowed down in the 2nd half to a 2-3 zone defense and lost the game? Can we not use JB in that situation? He seems to score around the basket in a slower pace game.

Sure we can, but why we haven’t used that offense to attack the zone is beyond me.

Yes. If you can't switch gears and deliberately work the ball into the post, you're not going to make it far in the tournament.
Andy Kennedy is going to play a lot of 1-3-1 and 2-3 zone today.

So far it isn’t working in this one.

Offense is not the issue. We scored 88 points on a good shooting percentage. We play no defense. We gave up over 80 to mid pack programs 3 games in a row.
We score enough we just give up more

I could almost believe that someone has gotten to one or more of our players and for whatever reason they have just stopped trying to win. Jones with 8 turnovers yesterday? That hasn't happened since he's been here. And they were boneheaded turnovers, most of them unforced.
This team is right on the verge of self destruction.

Jones is too selfish of a player to effectively move the ball against a zone defense. Against a zone, good offensives may never put the ball on the floor, quickly moving it to open up holes in the defense. Jones, on the other hand, either jacks a three of drives into the teeth of the defense, losing the ball off the dribble or by making an ill advised pass. He seldom gets a shot off the pass, but almost always off the dribble. Jones is the reason the team ultimately reverts to playground ball & Penny needs to put his rump on the damn bench.

Ike would rather walk the ball up and lose 50-47?

Offense had little to do with Missouri win.
2nd half Missouri couldn't hit the water if they were pi$$ing off the side of a dingy in the middle of the ocean.
19.2% for half and 16.6% from 3.
