I think ACU will struggle with Utah Tech's size.

What's interesting is that you are still just below SFA even though you are tied in conference wins and have the head to head win. They have one more D1 win over-all than you.

We are higher than SFA when using the conference ranking system, so if the conference season ended today, we would be the two seed. It would be interesting to see the ranking if SFA defeats GCU.

We need someone else to take GCU down other than SU. We need things in the WAC mixed up a little more

With the move to McMurry, there won't be an ESPN broadcast; radio only.

There are days when I just really hate basketball.

Cats were on a ROLL tonight. I haven't seen them play like this in a long time. The game had to be moved to little 'ol McMurry and the crowd was amazing. Sometimes I really love that little gym basketball feeling. It was rocking and ACU came in with a chip. UT actually got ahead early, but then ACU caught up mid first half and never really looked back. By late in the game we had pulled away and there was no way UT was coming back. We out shot, out rebounded, had better FTs and finally had good bench points. We got back to TOs and POTs. It was finally classic Cats basketball and the final was 82-60 Cats...

ACU blasted Utah Tech, building a 30 point lead before shutting down for an 82-60 win. UT was super tall across the board but the Wildcats moved the ball so much faster and the team work was fun to watch. Dibba, Simmons, Hunter Jack, and Bettiol all in double figures. The team looked more like we thought they might. I still don't know how a 263 pound Simmons can bring the ball up with all the behind the back and between the legs dribbling a little guy does while running full speed. A delight to watch. The crowd cheered his agility.

Like CBU, SUU is a much more talented team than their record would indicate. Tarleton was simply outclassed tonight by some wily and crafty players that really play well together. Trust me, they’re not done “upsetting” more teams this season.

I hope the Texans wore down SUU. We play them tomorrow afternoon and we need to beat them. The WAC is indeed a competitive conference. So many good athletes and teams can rise up and perform amazingly at almost any time. It is always competitive and full of unexpected outcomes. We do tend to beat up on each other.

The good news is Moody Coliseum is back open. The flooding was apparently in a medical building.

Good luck to ACU tonight in the ongoing battle to solidly own that crucial 8th place in the rankings. It would help if Tarleton put away Utah Tech, but TSU seems a little shaky lately.

We are back in Moody today, hope our traction continues on solid ground.

Tarleton can beat Utah Tech, no doubt. Those UT guys are tall but if you force then away from dunks and layups, they tend to miss. Surprisingly they missed a lot of free throws as well. They have one pretty good 3 point shooter, but the Tarleton defense I have seen on TV lately is aggressive and solid. Not sure what was off with SUU but maybe just an off night. Overall, I like your defensive style this year.

I did like a couple of new lineups Coach Jones used in the SUU game, even though one didn’t really work.

He played a three guard lineup with Barnes, Lewis and Moussa. I don’t think it was effective, but with better guards, it has potential.

He also played a big and long lineup with Barnes at the PG and Jackson (6’6”), Gaddy (6’6”), Innocenti (6’5”) and Benjamin (6’7”). Innocenti and Benjamin can guard most 2’s and 3’s in the WAC and Jackson and Gaddy can guard all 4’s and 5’s. This lineup destroyed SUU on the boards and got us back in the game. I hope to see this group at some point in all games going forward.

SUU did not beat us today, we beat us. It was maybe our poorest played game of the season. It is hard to go from well ahead to getting blown out the way we were. Congrats to SUU. Time for baseball.
