RE: New logo proposals survey
...I've always liked the 'connected' logo - in fact, I thought it would be cool to have a helmet with it - Dragon logo on one side, the UAB interlocked letters on the other...

RE: New logo proposals survey
Has anyone seen the vimeo video that discussed the rebranding/updating?

https://vimeo.com/905355216/b32b740e30?share=copy

It explains a lot of whats behind it for U4B

While we are at it can we add the American "A" to the basketball court like other schools and not spelling in out in the paint.

Agreed, that would look better.

It's dumb to not have the American A on the court.

Whoever the marketing company is - they suck! I mean ZERO creativity or talent. They were probably the same people who designed the hideous Hoover City logo

After watching the video, I believe they will probably go with the logo that is basically the current logo but unconnected.
It is nice to hear them say they want us to be known as UAB instead of University of Alabama at Birmingham when applicable. Now lets make ESPN and other sports outlets get the memo.

RE: New logo proposals survey
While I'm not a huge fan of the new designs (the solid green one is the best of the three), I do have to commend Rosie O'Beirne (UAB CMO/Digital Strategist) for diving into the deep end on Facebook in the Save UAB Football group. She has practically addressed every. single. comment. that's been posted in the last 24-48 hours. GaryVee-level marketing move right there.

From a marketing perspective, I get it. And this group will be the LAST group who will accept change. We will be the laggarts who are dragged kicking and screaming across the line.

That being said, at least the university is "trying" to modernize things. Trying to move forward. Trying.

That's a long way from what it was no so long ago... #JustSayin

LOL. They've got a pic of Blaze smoking a joint in the Vimeo video. Around 6:25. This feels bungled.

Option 1 definitely my option since it carries better across the University and athletics. My first look at them was the survey and all felt uninspired but watching the video gives a little more feel as to why they want to change and unify branding.

If you were paying attention, they were saying those are all different logos and images that popped up when they googled the UAB Logo.

Notice that weird UAB Blaze logo recruits use was on there too.

They just wanted to show all the logos that would pop up when googling UAB, including the unsanctioned bootleg ones.

I like the seperated logo with the A different than current logo. Like green, simple letters over last option shown. Keep dragon head the same.

VERY much agree. Us spelling out "American Conference" at the FT line just looks cheap. I mean, if we did nothing it would somehow make sense. I wonder who made the decision to not update our court...?

The floor overall looks rough this year. It doesn't look as if it's been polished in 2 years. Scuffs and scratches look terrible. My bet is they took the easy route to just cover the CUSA logo at the FT line. But my hope is there's a new floor in the plans so they did this in the interim, though it's a rough look for the first year in the conference.
