That QB who transferred to ASU because there was something hunky with his NIL deal. The University is not officially affiliated with that NIL group, but they may have inappropriately recruited him (?? not sure what that means; promised money perhaps).

I don’t follow these things much but apparently Florida State got hit with 2 years of penalties for something similar this year.

I don’t follow these things much but apparently Florida State got hit with 2 years of penalties for something similar this year.

First he was going to Miami, then UF came in with a honkin' $13m offer, but apparently it wasn't all it was cracked up to be or they had trouble coming up with the money. I remember thinking when the story broke that this is the sort of thing that SHOULD trigger an NCAA investigation, so it's not all that surprising to see one finally happen.

Right. When it first came out it was pretty sus (as the kids would say). Definitely worth investigating whether the university was involved in pulling the rug out from under this kid.
