Being the weaker team currently. Hopefully this season will be the biggest disparity in talent between the two schools going forward. I expect these two schools to be battle for basketball championship yearly. Tonight, NMSU has the home court advantage but I'm not sure it will be enough to beat WKU. The results will tell us a lot about both schools.

Out of curiosity, what does distance have to do with it? They flew there. They didn't take a horse down wagon. Unless you mean they are so far away from the frigid Temps in KY that will somehow affect their play. Lol

You better get use to similar NMSU home records each year. NMSU has a hard time getting good D1 opponents to venture into Las Cruces and the home schedule typically has 3 to 4 D2 schools on it. However, while in the WAC until last season's fiasco, NMSU rarely lost at home in conference. NMSU typically never loses more than 2-3 home games in a season. And NMSU carries an over 80% win rate in the PAC.

Its still a long way away, time difference of 2 hours. Its still tough to win road games especially far away. Look how we did in Candada.

Out of curiosity, what does distance have to do with it? They flew there. They didn't take a horse down wagon. Unless you mean they are so far away from the frigid Temps in KY that will somehow affect their play. Lol

NMSU was always a great game from the old Sun Belt days. Glad we are back playing and in the same conference again.

You do realize a flight takes less time than a bus trip. I.e. I imagine the travel time to NMSU/UTEP takes about the same or less time than a bus trip to LaTech, Liberty, JaxSt, etc.

That's my point. If we are flying to Liberty, FIU, LaTech, etc, being on a plane 30 minutes longer to get to NMSU/UTEP is not a factor...or not so much more than any other school. Distance is moot in the era of airplanes.

Now, altitude (i.e Denver back in the day), or several hour time zone difference and a late start..those are issues.

Not a single post on the game? Aggies come back from 23 down in the second half to win. Went unconscious from three.

Well that was a game. I was not expecting the Aggie comeback BUT COMEBACK WE DID! GG tops we are only going to improve from this season on. Jaylen Jackson-Posey was not able to get his revenge against SFU this year but I am glad Rawls did.

We got worn down by travel and altitude at end. We stopped playing with 10 min. to go. Will say whoever was guarding McHenry, he did a hell of a job, up in him entire game. You take away McHenry, we have a tough time. 1st half had guys step up, but really missed him 2nd half. Still this confference is wide open. Not seeing any team close to being dominate. 1-5 solid but mostly the same. Season starts March 15th in Huntsville Texas.

I concur. Lots of parity at the top it seems. I do feel altitude probably played a little into it. Las Cruces is 3,900 ft above sea level. BG is only a couple hundred above sea level. We're a fast paced team and it did seem like we ran out of steam just as NMSU got hot from the three. Not taking anything away from NMsU's performance tho, especially locking down McHenry. That was epic.
