Probably not. We will hire somebody's OC or DC as his replacement.

actually sounds like already have a 4th one- the South Alabama head coach heading to Alabama to be the DC there.

"...Wommack is expected to earn more than $2 million per year as Alabama’s defensive coordinator, easily more than double his $810,000 salary at South Alabama. More importantly, he’ll get the opportunity to coach a roster full of 4- and 5-star recruits...."
Wommack worked with DeBoer at Indiana.
Maybe Major Applewhite gets another head coaching slot. He is OC at South Alabama.

How many tiers of FBS do we see here?
- A SBC head coach and a MAC head coach become co-coordinators in the SEC for a significant bump in pay
- A MWC head coach moves to a new Big 12 school
- A head coach makes what was once an intraconference move to go from a new Big 12 school to a new B1G school
- A head coach goes from a Pac/soon to be B1G school to a SEC school
Alabama can pay more than just about anyone for a coordinator. And, the disintegration of the Pac has all sorts of implications.

think it's possible a coach even before would jump intra conference from Arizona to Washington. Especially with the money issues that Arizona seemingly has.

RE: San Jose St coach heads to Arizona
I mean no offense to Brennan as I don't know the actual situation, so can someone help me understand why he is a good hire? 34-48 doesn't seem fantastic, though I do see that the first two years skew that. Three 7 win seasons in 4 years isn't eye popping.
Again, no disrespect meant as often there is more than meets the eye. Something about SJSU? Something about Arizona's financial situation?
Thanks in advance.

Not to mention everybody that got a pay bump at their current schools after they were considered for Alabama.
Iowa DC Phil Parker was offered $2.1M to be the DC at Bama, but instead took a bump in pay to $1.9M to stay at Iowa.

There are SJSU posters here that can better explain this, but that's a very difficult job. 34 wins in 9 years at San Jose State is pretty darn good.
And yes, Arizona's financial situation comes into play here, for sure.

Brennan was runner up before Fisch was hired.
He had a massive rebuild at SJSU. Went 3-22 first two years, 31-26 after, which is basically HOF level for a school like SJSU

Yep, that's the explanation in a nutshell.
There was an article this morning in The Athletic about potential candidates to replace Brennan at SJSU. It's behind a paywall but this is specifically what it had to say about him:
Brennan’s run at SJSU was incredibly impressive. Although he went 34-48 overall, that’s weighed down by a 3-22 record in his first two seasons in charge. He was above .500 otherwise and had three seven-win seasons in the last four years, leading the Spartans to the 2020 Mountain West championship in a 7-1 year, with a Top 25 finish.

Agreed. Kenny is a high-character guy who had a lot of success in his career before things got a little stale at Navy. Comes from a great family that I knew well as a kid (his older brother was my best friend). I think he can reinvent himself with the right OC and be very successful at SJSU. Congratulations Spartan fans, I think Kenny is going to be a good fit for your program.

Yes, SJSU has been a bottom feeder most of its time in the MWC. Brennan did a good job making them respectable.

Niumatalolo was the Director of Leadership at UCLA last season. He coached the tight ends in the LA Bowl and was going to be the tight end coach for the Bruins in 2024. His son (Ali’i Niumatalolo) works as an offensive line graduate assistant for UCLA. Brent Brennan played wide receiver at UCLA in the 1990's under Terry Donahue. He comes from a football family and his first cousin is Colt Brennan. He is a good choice for Arizona. Offensively, his teams at San Jose State were very good. They went to three bowl games in the past four seasons, won the conference title in 2020 with a 14-point win at Boise, and had a nice win over Arkansas on the road in 2019.
