Fisch to Washington

"Arizona had opportunity to get Fisch a new deal, but it wasn't a priority for the school."

Wow. What a gut punch to fans of Arizona.

Maybe Arizona thought they could get someone on the same level. Or maybe the financial realities of being outside the P2 are setting in.

This is true for the Arizona side.

This was once an in-conference move. Washington is a better job anyway, but it especially is now that UW will be in the B1G.

Good move for Jedd Fisch. He gets a better job while his value is high. Good for Washington, as they won't have to pay him as much as they would have had to pay Kalen DeBoer.

RE: Fisch to Washington
I don't blame Fisch for leaving. If Washington is dumb enough to pay him 8 million a year he has to take it and run. In the end losing Fisch doesn't really matter as much as what is about to come next with transfers/decommits which will be what ultimately sends Arizona back into the depths of oblivion.

Tough loss for Arizona. Arizona was going into 2024 as one of the better teams on paper in the Big 12.

I wonder how many players will follow him to Washington.

Could be a historic year for the state of Kansas in the XII next season.

The basketball school, for the second consecutive season, has lost in conference to Washington State and Stanford. Great hire by UDub and tough loss for Arizona football.

Glad Lance Leipold turned it down.

Random wtf losses during the regular season that are largely ignored and then flame outs in the postseason. We are the Dallas Cowboys of March Madness.

Knew this was coming, but EFFING HECK

I'm resigned to it. He is an Arizona alum and was considered the 2nd choice when they hired Fisch. He's done amazingly well here in San Jose. I don't think he's the same caliber as Fisch, but he is energetic in a way that resonates with the players. Wish him well.

RE: Fisch to Washington
The question of course is would Fisch have taken the Washington job if they weren't heading for the BIG Ten?
