At the Jan. 16 Naperville City Council Meeting, McBroom suggested the city create a "sign up sheet" whereby residents who support illegal immigration to the Chicagoland area could volunteer to house now homeless illegal aliens to live with them. "We hear from people that we should do more,” McBroom said. “We do have a very affluent community, a lot of big homes.”
McBroom earned his Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. He and his wife Emily settled in Naperville in 2001. McBroom is a Financial Advisor and owner of McBroom Financial Group in Naperville. He was elected to the Naperville city council in 2023. His current council term ends in 2027.

Virtue signaling doesn't really require any action on your part. This is exhibit A. Lots of people talked the talk. That's the extent they are willing to go to show their 'bona fides.'

Some local non-profits appear to be facilitating the hosting set ups.
Another family in in the city of Brookline received a call from Bay State Community Services (BSCS) in Quincy to house a illegal immigrant family. The BSCS website says that it furthers "its mission by partnering in a strength-based culture of recovery that affirms the principles of self-determination and individual dignity.” It does not appear to advertise services for migrants.
The Immigrant Support Alliance also held a public meeting in January on how to host the illegal immigrants.
A resources document for migrants who arrive in the state cites several different "Resettlement Agencies," however, research into several of these organizations' websites revealed little information on how the hosting process takes place and if there are background checks for illegal immigrants who are go to resident homes.
During August 2023 Massachusetts Lt. Gov. Governor Kim Driscoll urged residents to consider hosting illegal immigrants. "This is not a crisis that our family shelter system was designed to handle. For months now, the state government and our providers have been doing the work of stretching the system as far as it can safely go. But we really need to bring more people into this work to make it a true team effort," she said at the time.

The cuts announced Friday are just the start of a plan Mayor Johnson and the city are taking to reduce its budget by nearly $60 million, Fox News reports. The plan is reportedly to cut down or consolidate current shelters housing the illegal immigrants, and are asking residents to assist with housing them.
Denver Human Services employee, John Ewing told Fox 31, "We put out a feeler to all the landlords we have connections with." He added, "Basically said, listen, we’re going to have some newcomers who are going to need housing."
The city has also reached out to landlords to see if they would be willing to rent to illegal immigrants who can afford it. Ewing noted, "We’ve got kind of a rent cap - $2,000."
Denver is a sanctuary city of 710,000 residents, where tent cities for illegal immigrants began to pop up as its shelters were overflowing earlier this year. In a January interview with Fox, Samantha Menendez, co-owner of "One Shot Back" bar in Denver, noted the "200 plus tents around our business."
