Vivek Puts Media on the Spot With Stunning Questions, Their Response Should Concern U
Quote:Vivek Ramaswamy certainly seems to have a talent in knowing how to deal with media. We've seen this now on multiple occasions where he has taken apart reporters who try to take him out but find the tables being turned on them. The most recent examples of this were when he decimated NBC's Dasha Burns as well as a WaPo reporter on questions about racism and white supremacy.

But the questions he asked the media on Wednesday were truly something else. He was talking with two state reps, and one of them wanted to know if there was any of the national media who believed they were wrong.

Vivek said that was a great question, and then he asked the assembled media in front of him some things I think we would all like to know from them.

"Who here is willing to admit that the Trump-Russia collusion hoax was inaccurately reported by the mainstream media?" he asked of the reporters.

There didn't seem to be any takers to acknowledge that basic truth. They frankly seemed stunned that he would even ask them such a thing. One reporter offered it "wouldn't be really appropriate for answer a question like that."

"Why not?" Vivek asked. "What's inappropriate is lying to the public."

Vivek then went on to say he thought that the public was lied to long after it became known about the Clinton involvement in the Steele dossier.

He then went on to give another example that he thought might be easier for them.

"Does anyone believe the media's reporting about the origin of COVID-19?"

He asked for a show of hands whether anyone believed that the Wuhan lab was the likely source. The state reps raised their hands. None of the media did.

He then asked what I think should have been the simplest one, even if they were frightened to admit the prior ones: Does anyone believe the Hunter Biden laptop story, as reported by the New York Post, was accurately reported and not Russian disinformation? He recalled how the story had been suppressed on Twitter by locking the account of the NY Post as well as the accounts of the people who shared the story. That should be easy, right?

Multiple mainstream media outlets have admitted the laptop was real now.

But still, it looked like no hands went up. Vivek even mentioned a reporter from an outlet that had reported on the laptop, but it wasn't clear if that reporter acknowledged it.

One reporter asked about Rudy Giuliani being sued in relation to the laptop as though that somehow put the laptop in question and she asked why Vivek was asking about this now.

Vivek explained that it was election interference, and that he thought that there was the "same kind of election interference" going on now too. He argued you have to deal with the mistakes of the past or you're going to be dealing with the same thing in the future. He said he didn't want to see that happen again, and that the suppression of those things and the suppression of speech in regard to things like COVID-19 was a big problem.

"That history is relevant to what's happening today," he declared.

You can see that they never expected to be questioned like that — how dare anyone question them?! And then, with just a few things the one female reporter said, you could see how ignorant she was and how that revealed her skewed thoughts. Likely, their political leanings enter into why none of them will admit there are problems here.

And it's concerning — when they're the media who have the supposed job of ferreting out the truth and presenting facts to us — that they don't seem to know the facts or seem to be interested in the truth.

Like Ive said-----I think Vivek is the heir apparent for leadership of the MAGA wing of the Republican Party. As such---he IS the future of the Republican Party. He has some things to learn about foreign policy---but he's a bright guy---he'll get it. I still think he's really the only candidate that makes complete sense as VP for Trump. I like Nome, but if you really want to set up 2028 for the Republican Party----the Trump VP will be Vivek. He's a kinder gentler Trump----he's better at communicating policy in a positive way---less entertaining for sure---but more able to convince sectors of the electorate that might not be typical Republican voters.

Very impressive. Vivek R. is not my first, or even my second, preference for 2024 Republican nominee, but I would be perfectly happy supporting him.

Which naturally (because I cannot help myself) leads me to the follow-up question - - why would any Trump supporter posting on this forum suggest that Vivek R. needs to wait 'til '28? Whatever for? So that the country can melt down irreparably under the watch of one or other geriatric egos presently leading their tickets? Is that really a reason to dismiss Vivek R. as too young or too inexperienced? He clearly is able to handle himself at a level that few can.

A more pointed question: what does anyone see in Donald Trump that suggests that he belongs in the same room as Vivek R. when it comes to political talent, leadership or ability to communicate? This clip shows a candidate with the ability to offer up a 5-plus minute dismemberment of a hostile press. Donald Trump could not have handled even 15 seconds of that, before wandering off into down some unpleasant tangent.

Being a Trump supporter and not having Vivek R. first on your list of preferred candidates is akin to commenting that Emily Ratajkowski may be hot, but she doesn't have anywhere near the modeling chops of Martha Stewart. Are you guys effing crazy?

And once again you equate not having a massive case of TDS as being a Trump supporter.

I'm looking that current polling (for what little that is worth). Current standings: Trump at 61.1%; Ramaswamy at 4.1%.

That's not TDS (much as you like to throw around that all-purpose response). That's an awful lot of supposed conservatives with a real messed-up perception of actual talent.

Maybe Vivek could identify as a black chick. It got Kumswala a VP nomination when she was around 3-4% in the primary

I'll bite. There are things that Trump wants to finish that are wildly unpopular with the left.. Let him finish them. Let Trump take the heat while Vivek takes point on less controversial issues and gains experience.

Whomever Trump picks can't be on the ticket to hold his hand in DC or be a policy wonk like Pence was...it has to be someone ready to actually be president on day 1. Running a guy staring 80 years old in the eyes who will be a 1 term lame duck the minute he swears in changes the normal equation.

Vivek has been pretty impressive lately. I'd vote for him if he was the nominee.

But he won't be.

What he does much, much better is that he can put someone down without resorting to insulting them. He can biatch slap someone and that someone would say, "thank you" because he does it slyly.

I like this guy for VP because if something happened to the Orangeman he could take over very easily because of his intelligence. People criticize him for not having foreign affairs experience but how can he if the only place he can get any info is through the media and we know how they operate. If he became VP he could get his hands into the poo and learn just how sticky and smelly it can get from experience.

Maybe you haven’t noticed, but he is not waiting. But at the same time he is not leading either. I like him a lot myself, but he is not leading. At this moment, I prefer Trump.
Trump did say last night that he has already picked his VP candidate. We shall see who that is.

Well, Trump said he already picked his running mate, I just wonder if that pick wants to be his VP. I can pick any gorgeous hollywood star to marry me but the question is, would she want to?

If anyone listens to Vivek since he started his campaign it's obvious he's running for the VP spot. Unlike his opponents he never attacks DJT. He knows who the nominee is going to be. He's just showing DJT he has the balls to take on the media and it's BS narratives.

I am hopeful DJT selects him as his running mate. For no other reason than to see him eviscerate Kamala.

I would too given the opportunity. With that being said I bet it would be a bigger event than the presidential debate.

Trump has arenas packed with people. Vivek does not. The first tenant of effective communication is having an audience.

Beyond that, I think Trump has a much better grasp of international and domestic commerce. In particular, I think Trump understands small businesses better than any president of the last forty years.

Certainly one possibility, MHB, but we really won't know until November.

If Donald Trump manages to get back in the White House, then I promise to change my signature line to something appropriately penitent. It is the least I can do for my nonstop antagonizing of the rest of you. But if Trump blows it - - which I KNOW he will - - I would expect a corresponding degree of self-reproach from those on this board constantly making excuses for the irredeemable idiot. But I somehow know that won't ever happen.

Good response. But I'm still stuck on the imbalance in capabilities. If there is "heat" involved in being potus - - which there obviously is - - Vivek R. is so much better suited to deal with it than Captain Meltdown.
