The newspaper just notified me that he won it. I appreciate the help guys. He’s the hardest working player I’ve ever ever coached. Very talented. I just wish he was a little bit taller, so I can send him to the Tigers…lol

I misunderstood... I read "My senior basketball player" as him being your son. Didn't realize you're a coach.

We are a small school but this year we’ve decided to test ourselves and play a tougher schedule. Playing large 3A & 4A public schools. In Texas that means UIL schools just like TSSAAA. And playing large TAPPS schools. That’s the largest private school league in Texas. Despite the uptick in competition we have faired quite well. Going 16-5 in non league games. Judah, despite being only 6’2” has outplayed guys 6 inches taller than him all season and is the leading scoring center in Texas as of now. That includes all players of every level. In addition is averaging 10 rebounds per game.

Judah and I have begun the process of finding him a small private college to try out for. He’s willing to move. His height will be the point of apprehension for coaches. We are working hard to turn him into more of a SF/Wing.

Our school has applied for admission into both leagues but UIL said we have to drop Christian from our name. So of course we have said no to that. TAPPS wants us to have at least 6 male sports. Basketball, cross country and track is all we have. So now we are raising money for baseball, 6 man football and soccer. It’s only my 2nd year at this school. Trying to build this athletic department one brick at a time.

I wish I'd seen this sooner but congrats to your player and to you as well as it's a reflection on you too.

We are trying to get him somewhere that he won’t get lost on the bench. So he can play and prove himself and maybe, due to loose transfer rules, try to work himself up a level. I’m hoping Paris Junior College will give him a look.
