Interesting article, thanks for posting. Tells us a lot of the two schools involved, that he actually toured Marshall and decided to go for door #2 in JMU sight unseen based on word of mouth and reputation over what he did see. Coach By had to do a bunch of recruiting Zoom work quickly when he got the gig here and it was mostly due to Covid restrictions, so it’s interesting to see somebody now committing without ever being on campus.

Sounds like he only visited Marshall, and had other schools interested, but no time to visit. Maybe has some geographic ties or was looking to be in this region. JMU is a slam dunk over Marshall imo. Plus can sell the top 25 rating and one of a handful of teams with legit CFP hopes. I think Morris hopes to return to CFP playing as a starter.

Appears that UNC wanted to move him to WR. Numbers game. He redshirted. They have too many RBs.

He was recruited ahead of Omarion Hampton who got the RB1 job (253 carries) and lit it up. RB2 (74 carries) was a senior and between those two and Maye (112) carries weren’t spread much at all to anyone else, RB3 got 15 carries then 4, 2 and 1 to the others. Seems Pettaway shut it down this season to redshirt and transfer.
