We are currently being ravaged by the transfer portal. No telling where LU will land. Losing our top 2 QBs, starting WR, 2 starting CBs, starting DT, S, and a handful of backups.

A newbie question; traditionally when are the full schedules released?

WKU is really easy to predict with Helton, so yes 3rd with 8 wins.

I think it's usually January.

2022 was March, but that was an unusual year.

I am curious about the scheduling plan for 10 and 11 (and probably 12). There isn't necessarily a right answer (and it will be temporary for 10, if not for 11 as well).

We've had some weird ones, during UAB's sabbatical and obviously the COVID season.

I think we'll end up with the same Top 4 as last year, though the order will probably be different. I think Sammy turns the corner this fall, and UTEP and MTSU may also be improved. FIU will still struggle, but won't be last.

Obvious Caveat: Coaching changes and the Portal are really messing up my initial projections. I honestly don't know what will actually happen.

For S&G, I'll guess the following:

1. WKU - Congrats, Hilltoppers.
2. Liberty - K Salt returning gives the Flames a lift, but I'm still leaning Toppers.
3. Jax State - might've been No. 1 if we hadn't lost our DC to the Sooners.
4. NM State - might've been No. 1 with Coach Kill.
5. Sammy - Can easily squeeze into the Top 4.
6. UTEP - Could be bowl eligible.
7. MTSU - Could be bowl eligible.
8. FIU - I think they'll be improved but will finish just outside bowl eligibility.
9. La Tech - The struggle continues.
10. Kennesaw - Need to start seeing improvement or Coach Bo's seat's going to be white hot.

I rate Sam Houston State fourth because they will be better and this league is going to be terrible.

UTEP’s new coaching staff has been very, very active on the recruiting trail. The Miners lost about 18-20 to the portal and another 14 to graduation. So far the staff has signed around 35 with a few more to come. Portal, high school and a few JC. No way to tell how good or bad they will be but at least it will be a more exciting and entertaining style of offense. Speed on offense has been a priority.

I’ll play, but this will all change after spring ball, and when summer practice ends.

1. Liberty - Champion until proven otherwise
2. WKU - They will bounce back
3. Jax St. - Rich Rod has a good thing going.
4. Sammy - They broke the ice. Now they will break through.
5. FIU - Coach Mac will get a nice season.
6. MTSU - New coach will light a fire in the boro.
7. La Tech - meh, more disappointment.
8. UTEP - At least there is some new life with a new coach.
9. NMSU - The winning has been Killed.
10. Kenny - Show me something. Anything.

Except for army56mile, I think all of you are very kind to NMSU. I think the football team will look like the men's basketball team this season. Lots and lots of new faces. Who know how long it takes to gel as a team.

They could go 2-1 in those, 1-2 is more realistic, but 0-3 is possible. UNM should improve a lot with Bronco Mendenhall as their coach. Conference games might be all over the place. I would say somewhere from 2-10 to 8-4.
