Sadly this is one of the sports App has to park outside the SBC (SoCon). Duals have started and App took down a ranked UNC of the weekend.

Currently App sits ranked @ #24 in the NWCA (Coaches) poll.

Big fan of what the staff has been doing to not only raise the profile of wrestling in Boone, but Coach Bentley also outlines annually what the sport brings to campus monetarily. It also goes to show what happens when just a little bit of effort comes from promotions outside of the HC itself. Bret Strelow in Athletic Communications does a great job in doing media days, social media and such.

Boone is one of those places I haven't been to in a very long time. Would love to catch match down there one of these days.

The Ivy League will be sponsoring wrestling starting in 2025.

The six Ivy League schools currently participate in the EIWA conference which will drop to 11 members after the Ivy exit.

Go App! I wish JMU would bring back wrestling. Those were some quality meathead dudes LOL. They'd all disappear during the season and then roll into the party scene like a tsunami once it was over. Never saw one start a fight, but damn I saw them end a few.

Wrestling duals in Varsity Gym are a lot of fun. 200 people can sound like 2,000 in that old gym.

We're supposed to get more bleachers and a videoboard in there next season.

JohnMark has done a yeoman's job with the program without it being fully funded going up against other programs that are. App State Wrestling has become a revenue sport and a hot ticket at that.

App returns to duals today visiting Duke. Won the first match.

Going two of three ACC opponents to start the season and being ranked is not a bad start. Sweep the SoCon and get another trophy.

The ACC should just add the wrestling team at this point. At least we could help their rankings instead of hurting them.
