Lost a close one to UCA tonight 71 - 75 but we shouldn't have lost that one.

It's what happens when one team wants it more than you and you think you're too good to play them. We out-rebounded them and had a good start to the second half but they wanted it more and fought back. And this is barely a road game. You're only 25 miles away and that place wasn't even packed.

Free throw shooting. WTH?! The misses made the difference in the outcome. Although I'm not sure if a close win would've made me happy either. But they got to work on that.

Coaching. WTH?! I'm sorry and I understand that Cougar was in foul trouble but as soon as they were starting their second-half run, he needed to get back in. Also, you have to sub more early in the half. Because the last 5 that were out there looked gassed in the final couple minutes.

Defense. WTH?! What happened to changing defenses several times a game? Why did we play man to man for most of the game? That's just not what I'm used to seeing Walker do and I'm not really convinced by our half-court defense because our switching stinks. They were getting plenty of open shots near the perimeter off of screens.

Offense. WTH?! Half-court offense looked so passive at times and we weren't making the best shot all the time.

So, are we sure that this team is ready to contend for an OVC championship? It may have been one of those flukey games but regardless, we need to expect better because we have seen better. Take a deep breath folks because we are not there just yet. And don't say that having Robinson or Mitchell back on the court will make the ultimate difference. It didn't need to be when you're playing a 1-9 team.

I am out of town and just watched a replay of the game. Awful performance. We still can’t beat anyone on the road. Not even a team with no DI wins. Not sure which OVC team we can beat on the road if we can’t beat a terrible UCA team. I still think we can be a good team with KK and Mitchell, but who knows if we’ll see either one on the court.

We were not ready to play and that is on the coaches. And UCA just got back from Hawaii this week. That is a brutal flight home. No way we should have lost that game.

And we better not go to sleep on Winthrop either. They are good.
