I'm expecting them to announce one once the NE weather clears and they know his ETA to HBurg. Guessing it might be tomorrow at this point.

Do we know who else interviewed? I trust JB but just curious who we had considered.

Jeff Traylor and Delane Fitzgerald I think were the only ones who confirmed to interview. I bet Harasymiak interviewed as well.

Suspect a good bit more had initial interviews via Zoom that won't ever be revealed. JB said dozens of highly qualified coaches applied.

Are we sure about Traylor. That one post was a spoof account and he makes 2.5 million at UTSA.

Not sure why he would interview here in that case no matter how good the job is. He also is Texas through and through and has a statue and a stadium named after him in Gilman. TX.

Thrilled with the hire, but let's not get ahead of ourselves on Sluka, Dobbs, etc. Those guys are going to be offered real bags elsewhere and not sure if just "going with their guy" is enough to get them here. Would love to be wrong, but just not trying to get my hopes up.

Press conference scheduled on Tuesday.
I was a little surprised by it being that far from today, but honestly I'm not gonna complain one bit.
He's got a LOT of work to do and makes sense to focus on that.
Plus having it next week will give him a little more substance to talk about. He'll have a few days of the job under his belt and be able to talk about much more than if he had it tomorrow.

Seems a bit strange, but the press conference is for the fans not anyone else.

Hopefully he is on the ground in Harrisonburg by later today. That little front sitting in Western Mass just isn't moving, but plane is still in Lynchburg ready to go.

Agreed, this seems to be a great hire.

FWIW, my friend who played at Colgate is quite thankful that his Raiders will not have to face Chesney-coached Holy Cross moving forward.

Obviously I don’t know why, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it has to do with recruiting and the portal needing attention. I think those panicking about those things may be seeing that it is indeed taken seriously by the people involved. Trust the professionals.

Probably not since he's not familiar with any of the playbook but I'm sure he will be there during practice to help.

If the Hetherman thing does come true he could definitely coach the defense since Haines just continued with basically the same defense

I want the coaches planning and recruiting.

this is a key time of the year. Let the existing coaches handle the bowl game.

Also, if he takes questions, right now at least half will be asking about his coordinator picks. Maybe on Tuesday, he'll be in a position to talk about that.

Thinking the same. Believe those wheels are in motion.

Nice hire, now let's build a team and get our guys in the portal back from their walkabouts/recruits to stop having wandering eyes.

I just saw that he’s won a conference championship half of the 14 years he’s been coaching. 04-jawdrop

RE: Welcome Head Coach Bob Chesney!
No way this guy should be named a run of the mill “Bob”.
He needs a power nickname and I’m sure one will develop organically.

But why wait?
Put your heads together and establish a nickname here in the court of public opinion.
