I was laughing hard trying to rank "premium seats." I don't think I've ever chosen to have premium anything and neither cheap meal plan nor sitting under the press box during a rain were one of the choices. I mean, if I really were going to put towards fancy suite seating, it wouldn't be up in those next county press boxes. I'd rather endzone at larimer with outdoor sauna and time of day appropriate drinks.

If money no object, where could they build better access suites? Under the press box?

More chair backs, better competition, a lot better concessions.

is there a limited of chair backs available to order? we did for first time this year, and by game 4 one was gone (likely ripped out by fan at HS game and moved) and by game 6 the remaining chair only had the seat as back was gone...and yea we informed Athletics....not again as next year we are bringing our own seat cushions

The bell is there every game. They roll it across the endzone by the students.

Wow, I never noticed a bell. Never hear a bell. I wasn't an undergrad at UT and have never sat down that way. Does it do something? They ring it at certain times?

They never had the cannon on field level?

The reason the cannon is on top of the stone tower now is because a player did in fact slide into it. Not sure who or when, maybe 6-10 years ago.

Yep, the cannon. I could swear it was the bell. Cannon has moved around-I recall a game played in fog where UT scored early and often and play was halted due to smoke and fog obscuring the field. Players were out waving towels and cannon fire was forbidden for the rest of the game. That was before it moved down on the field. Here’s some history:

“The canon was first fired at the football game vs. Xavier on Sept. 17, 1966 from the top east stone tower in the Glass Bowl. The cannon continued to be fired from this position until 1989, when it had to be moved to the field because of structural concerns with the stone towers. From 1990 to 2008 the cannon was fired from field level until it was moved to the east balcony of the Larimer Building for safety reasons. In 2009 the cannon returned to its original position on the east tower. Blasts are fired at the beginning of each home game, at the end of each half, and after every Rocket score.”

I want to say it was Desmond Marrow (he was there from 06-11). But I could be wrong.
