Seton Hall
NU heads back to Jersey to take on Seton Hall at the Prudential Center in Newark. The game is at 6:30 and on FS2.
If NU gets outside shooting from Turner and Sakota and can stay out of foul trouble, I think they can pull off an upset. SH doesn't shoot the ball well from deep, but they have some big guards and all 4 guards have quickness - which could cause us problems defensively. They also have a senior-laden starting lineup.
They have a few bigs, one of which could hurt us as well.
This will likely be another game where we hang around and keep it interesting, but again come up short of winning...

The spread on the game is fifteen points so a win is unlikely but playing better teams in the preseason prepares the team for conference play especially if it's a young team.

The sophs continue to contribute. As a class last year they got a ton of minutes and the four of them added seventeen ppg. Tonight, against a more talented team, they accounted for forty-four of the teams seventy-five points. And King....a 2.9 ppg scorer last year ...hit double figurers for the third time in the last four games.

RE: Seton Hall
I was at the game last night.
I agree the sophs once again played well and we forced SH to play hard for them to win this game. Obviously, we're missing a few players who could take this team to another level, and hopefully that happens next season.
We finally have a few home games this weekend and next week.
There were some ridiculous calls late in the game when we were down 8. The flopping call on Turner's 3-point shot and the intentional foul call on SH player cutting to the basket made absolutely no sense to me and pretty much ended the game.

There was a third call that took place around the same time. King drove the right side of the lane and was met by a couple of moving pirates and knocked him to the floor. No call. That stood out to me because a minute or to later the intentional foul was called with very little contact.
