RE: McNeese State Cowboys
I thought he played a decent first half. Didn’t hurt us then.
When we got down by 5 or so and he made the pass from behind the arc, cross court to the baseline to the other team, we pretty much spiraled from there. AK refused to call a timeout until we got down by 18-22. That’s Jerod Haase stuff. Ehsan wouldn’t have even put up with that long of a run.

Haase 2.0 lots of low to mid major wins, few bright spots.

AK definitely is a “let the guys play it out on the court” type of coach and waits a long time to call TOs. That’s his philosophy, whatever …
But with the sloppy/raw players we’ve recruited they usually just end up spiraling and not “playing their way out of it”
How many times did we see press his way into disaster? Same with Gaines? Kind of hard to rally in-game without a time out when you don’t ever have a point guard or shooters

Was looking back. Mike Davis never dropped an OOC game at home against a team like McNeese except for his last season, when it was pretty well known he was done here. And before anyone says we didn't play anyone good OOC at home, you might wanna check it. We beat some pretty good OOC teams at home during his tenure.

We beat a lot of good teams at home under Mike davis.
Mcneese is good, no disrepect to them, but no way in hell we should be losing by 20+ to them at home. unacceptable.

VCU and Butler. Mayve played Wichita state and Creighton. Can’t remember home or away. Hosted Cincy. Hosted either UGA or Arkansas as well.

We beat UGA at home.
We beat ranked Cincy at home in Lance Stephenson's (aka Lance'll make em dance) lone year there. He was DQ'ed from the game with 2 technical fouls. It was quite comical.
Beat ranked butler and VCU - both in years they went to the final four.
Beat NC State at home in the NIT.

See, I remember some stuff from the age 13 and on. Anderson years are the golden age for me, and barely old enough to remember. Remember winning at Arizona when they had Red Mamba, I think

"Team like McNeese. ..."
I'd say they kicked our tails partly because our guys played them with the urgency of facing a "team like McNeese."
But that wasn't a "like McNeese" McNeese team. That was a team that has 4-5 high major talents on it that will have a chance to win a game or two in March if they can get there.

Same McNeese team that lost by 9 to powerhouse La Tech last week.

Yep, because teams like them and us are inconsistent. But they have real talent, not the kind of talent that would be typical there.

Which begs the larger question of why do AK led teams have multiple WTF games like this a year?

I imagine there was a post just like this on the Maryland board a couple weeks ago.

You mean like almost every other team in college basketball including the blue bloods?
It happens.

Yep, a home loss by 21 to McNeese is normal
Or losing to 200+ RPI teams Marshall, Rice, FIU, ODU, etc is normal

Well Coleman just posted a video on IG of him driving damn near 100mph at night. He is the one filming, while he is driving 90+ mph, and has the phone in the speedometer and his dashboard screen.
So all seems good with that situation!

Since he's like 24 hope he wasn't drinking.

RE: McNeese State Cowboys
To me, that game had three distinct phases:
1) The first half, where McNeese canned three beyond the arc to start, we were composed and able to play, and despite hitting no shots, held a lead at the half.
2) The first ten minutes of the second half, where McNeese did the same thing, building a 2-3 possession lead.
3) The last ten minutes, where the team lost complete focus (some might even say quit), lost the will to complete, and let them throw an alley oop off the backboard in our gym with literally no one in white on that side of halfcourt.
#3 is the part that is eating at AK. He knows he's responsible for it, and as he's said, the margin of error (as it was with all previous AK teams here so far) is razor thin. Give McNeese and Wells credit for playing very well--however, that last ten minutes could've happen against anyone we've played so far this year.

Hopefully not. This was probably around midnight. Not a good look either way.
Forgot to mention while he was recording himself driving 90+ mph at night he was also passing what looked to be like a bus. Incredibly dangerous and stupid. I guess he’s our yearly head case. Hopefully he and the teams pulls it together.
