RE: Could injury keep FSU out of playoff?
Washington hasnt played a team with a pulse east of the Rockies. While I think they are a really good team, I"m not sold on them being a really great team, primarily because the "really good teams" out west they have beaten arent looking that great right about now.

They win out they're in, they lose once they're out. Same as before the injury. Only difference is the injury likely makes them more likely to lose to Louisville (Arkansas beat Florida this year, it probably won't matter who the QB is vs. Florida).

I apologize if this has been discussed....

What is stopping Florida State from openly courting a QB in the portal, enrolling them for the Spring 2024 semester and daring "whoever" to challenge this player's eligibility to participate in the playoff? The CFP is not a sanctioned NCAA playoff/championship. Rather, it's run by ESPN and its sponsors who would love the publicity such a move would bring. Obviously, it would open a can of worms but at this point, what difference does it make? Just keep challenging all current rules and procedures.....

The bowls (including the championship game) are indeed NCAA sanctioned. Points for thinking outside the box.

Finebaum is beating the drum of leaving FSU out unless they obliterate the Gators.

If they are out at 13-0, they’ll play one of todays Top 3 in the Orange. Not a bad opponent and I suppose an outside shot they look better than the playoff champ.

Finebaum can beat the drum or anything else he wants, but FSU aint getting left out if they win out.

Other than that, no.

This whole thread said about the same as this. Looks like we were wrong.

I see this post is from 11/19. Well done, sir, you nailed it.

You (and Paul Finebaum) were right. Everyone else on this board was wrong. I still have a hard time fathoming the warped logic of excluding an undefeated power conference champion…except that Alabama and the SEC needed to “win”.
