Notre Dame Extends Contract with NBC
https://frontofficesports.com/notre-dame...20Peacock.
Per the article, Notre Dame’s payout from NBC will double to nearly $50M per year average. Notre Dame seems solidly committed to football independence until 2029.
The article doesn’t provide any details regarding whether there are commitments to play versus B1G opponents.

The Big Ten media deal expires in 2029.
We may see some action in 2029.

RE: Notre Dame Extends Contract with NBC
Add up the NBC payout (several people on Twitter claim it is $60 million a year) and the ACC payout up and ND will be getting P2 type TV money.
Jack Swarbrick was able to do this without the payment of an exit fee, a GOR buyout or having football join a conference.
Not a bad job. He will likely get a statue erected near the stadium one day.

That was beyond impressive. Notre Dame is sitting pretty.

With the addition of In state Cali& Texas ACC Network income expect their total deal to be 75-80M per year (50M NBC - 20-30M ACCN)

Why would ND expect anything near that amount from the ACCN? I doubt ACC schools will get that much, and the league only controls TV rights for an average of 2.5 football games a year.

The Disney/ESPN contract with cable providers requires higher payouts for sports channels that have an in-state school. IIRC, the channel must also be put in the cable providers standard/basic bundle. Beginning July 1, 2024, ACCN revenues will have a windfall due to adding the two most populous states in the country (California and Texas).
When negotiating the formation of the ACCN, ESPN asked the ACC to provide Notre Dame with a full-share of ACCN revenues. Likely, ESPN marketing wanted to leverage the Notre Dame football brand when promoting the ACCN. The ACC agreed to this provision. Although ND does not provide any home game content (and only 2.5 annual away games are eligible) towards the ACCN, ND received this sweetheart financial provision. In hindsight, this provision has create animosity because it clearly financially favors ND at the expense of all-in ACC members.
As an aside, the ACC footprint already includes very populated states: #3 Florida, #4 New York, #5 Pennsylvania, #8 Georgia, #9 North Carolina, #12 Virginia, #16 Massachusetts, and #17 Indiana…ESPN & the ACC built a cash-cow via the ACCN. The in-state rate that ESPN negotiated with cable providers is significantly less than the SECN rate; while the out-of-state rate is more than the SECN rate…in other words, the conference channels are set-up to succeed with different models.

Fans and boosters didn’t agree to the financial details of the ACCN…that’s where the animosity starts. Individual schools didn’t necessarily agree to it either…the ACC commissioner’s recommendation and a majority of members in a vote likely formalized the agreement. It’s how conferences operate. ND got a sweetheart financial deal while other members mind-the-gap.
