Confidence Meter Trend Thread
My Confidence seems to go up and down.

I went to bed at 60%.

I think I'm now at about 33% after the interview on the Pat M show.....

What is your confidence level we get a chance to compete in SBC & NY6 games? (either by legal or NCAA & assuming we win out)

0%

And at this point I'm starting not to care anymore, I just want to win all our remaining games whether it is 2 more, 3 more or 4 more.

80%. My very uneducated guess is that the courts come through. But whatever, everything that can be done is being done. Just root for the Dukes, hope for the best, curse the NCAA, and enjoy all this.

Definitely 0% without 2 victories to end the regular season.

I said "assuming we win out".

I'm just wondering if others are feeling a lot more confident than me. I've not given up, but I'm not feeling nearly as confident as I was last night.

10%.

Common sense isn't that common, I'm afraid.

Dukester - let's just say I'm much more of an optimist than you are. Don't want to jinx anything by throwing out numbers.

Some of the same people saying no chance now, are the same ones who said it was too late for legal action. I believe we get our legal filing tomorrow and our day in court next week, unless NCAA is rethinking all this and caves.

I said it was too late for legal action and happily I was apparently wrongo....

Just not hearing a lot of optimism today from off the board sources.

50/50. The NCAA is not known for righting wrongs, but they are getting roasted in the national media and if legal proceedings continue to develop they may wilt before getting exposed to financial risk.
Many times organizations will concede to an altered decision even if they think they are right, just to avoid taking a huge financial loss in court through shear legal fees. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, legal fees are tremendous when a case gets dragged on and on.

RE: Confidence Meter Trend Thread
Still not sure if we'll see NCAA cave with all this attention, or the filing happens.

Even if we file, the heat coming out of gameday could cause them to reconsider before the hearing.

Then, if a hearing occurs, and we win a TRO, they will be begging for a settlement imo. After that, its just a question of how ugly does it get in terms of damages and antitrust precedent for others to pile on next. It could even strengthen the other cases already out there.

The downside risks here are so large for NCAA, that competent counsel should be strongly advising them to reconsider. Most sane corporations would want to quickly button something like this up and make it go away.

80%. I believe the NCAA has too much to lose to not do the right thing, which the court may force them to do, or they may do it voluntarily to avoid the PR and legal hellstorm that awaits. The potential class action lawsuit that is on the horizon should they make the wrong decision could completely destroy the organization. I'm not sure that would be such a bad thing since P5 controls the NCAA. Plus, the media is on our side and making Charlie and the Morons (sounds like a 50s doo-wop band) look like a combination of Adolf Hitler and Ebenezer Scrooge.

Or, maybe I'm just a hopeless optimist.
