RE: JMU Waiver declined
Now JMU is talking about suing and getting politicians involved. They are like a spoiled child who can't take no for an answer. Or they are like a temp or first day employee who comes in the office, and on the first day closes the door to the boss office and demands a raise and tells the boss what he or she is doing wrong. The fight isn't worth it and they are damaging JMU's reputation.

Undefeated JMU and undefeated Liberty would be a dream matchup.

Make it happen!

Exactly

This is only about NY6 bowl. If JMU was 7-2 this wouldn't be an issue

Desperation is a stinky cologne. Bad look for JMU.

As much as I hate the idea of a G5 national championship, JMU have been trash talking just enough to make a JMU vs. Tulane NY(7) bowl game slap. Just move the Liberty Bowl or the Fenway Bowl into primetime - we all know it would be hilarious entertainment.

PS: On a serious note, I prefer the Fiesta Bowl - but I'm not oblivious to good entertainment.

Interesting that even Tarletan State was denied. Rules are being applied consistently at least.

Tarleton State is 7-3, and I did not include them for the FCS playoffs. They would be third in line if they got it, but that conference would have 1 team getting in.

Wow. The NCAA is actually going to make JMU abide by the terms they agreed upon when they chose to transition to the FBS (sarcasm).

Liberty had to get a waiver to even get to FBS since they didn't have a conference invite. I'd be careful about calling anyone a spoiled brat.

Stupid rule is stupid (tell that to Bellarmine in basketball). That said, they knew the rule so there should be no quarrel.

I'm rooting for a Liberty-JMU Bowl in a battle of unbeatens. Won't happen (they may not even finish undefeated) but it's for the best for all parties, including the game of college football in general.

A little surprised. This would’ve been an easy win for Charlie Baker and instead it’s a loss and impending lawsuit. It’s a draconian rule and the NCAA is about to get torn apart with Gameday in town. Way to go, Charlie.

Boo-Hoo! trying to steal millions as a non-legit candidate from the AAC, MWC, CUSA, and MAC. Like they had a chance. If JMU doesn't agree with the rules they previously agreed to then go back to FCS. You haven't played a good schedule. Liberty is more deserving if they keep winning. Quit begging to steal money from the rest of the G5. Good grief. The rest of the G5 and half of the Sun Belt who doesn't agree you should be in the SBC disagrees. And that includes App State and GA Southern who transitioned and missed bowl games in their transition.

Well that rule (requiring a conference invite) was an antitrust violation and they knew they would lose.

They weren't cheated out of anything. Otherwise the rules would have been different and would have had exemptions like "If you win your conference regular season" or "If you are undefeated" or "If you are ranked in the Top 25". It's not like nobody came up with that hypothetical to the NCAA before when wishing to bump up to FBS (eyes roll).

Rules are rules according to many posters on here. Liberty should have just waited until they had a conference invite like everyone else had to do.
