Two big defensive penalties on the drive before last gave 49ers a chance. That was my reason for my comment. Unnecessary and undisciplined.

Shades of UConn haunting me after Conner fumble. We're clearly better, but letting them hang around.

Total offense at half - Rice 200, Charlotte 88.

I'll take Jenkins over Padgett, who looked awful last week, as well (save for a couple throws to Luke). He looks scared in the pocket.

His practice action was limited and he had not been cleared for game action as of Thursday.

Best D all year by far. Needs to flip turnover margin second half, because not going to win this passing. Hope they have a package of plays for Chase and let him run against this defense. This should be the game to use it. Padgett has been a better passer before but doesn’t have it today. The football gods must have decided to give Owl fans a break or Bloom prayed a lot for his job, because being -2 in turnovers, we shouldn’t be ahead.

Nice drive to open 2nd half and a successful 2 point conversion make it 21-0.

5-7 and go to a bowl, I fire him and let Julie Griswold coach the bowl, because she did more to get Rice to the bowl than Bloomgren did.

I don't think so at all. He throws an excellent ball, but our receivers have extremely little separation again in this game.

Padgett is really bad. Looks like Rice will need another transfer for 2024.
