Week 2 getting set to tip off. Gavitt games along with the start of the exempt tournaments. Should be fun!

A court storming at The Palestra as Penn take down Big 5 rivals Villanova 76-72! Great atmosphere inside. What college basketball is all about at this time of year. A great start to the non-conference season for the Ivy League with two marquis wins already.

UMass-Lowell get their 2nd ever P5 victory with a win over Georgia Tech.
UC Irvine upsets #16 USC in the Galen Center
Santa Clara by a dozen at Stanford 89-77. They will be a factor in the WCC once again this season.
A bunch of MTE's and early season tournaments begin over the next couple of weeks.

I don’t know the dynamics of the Big 5, but I watched the end of that and was surprised at the court storming.

Would be interesting to know the number of Power 5 and Big East teams that play away games at mid-major home courts in any given year.

Assuming UCLA wins against Long Island University late tonight...these numbers stand for another day.

That's sick. We're only 3 games into the season.

Beating Villanova is the big deal here. The Big 5 (+1) changed its format this year. Let Drexel in and created two pods, with the top team in each pod meeting for the mythical championship. Most thought a ranked Villanova would win the one pod. It is now up for grabs.

No mention of the Champions Classic? Duke takes down Michigan St, and Kansas, after starting 9-0 against Kentucky, falls behind by as many as 14 in the 2nd half, then comes back to win by 5, the victory sealed by a freshman Jamari McDowell calmly sinking two free throws with 5.4 seconds left.

It's still Nova pretty able easy to win-
right now-
St Joe's 1-0 +8
Penn 1-1 -4
Nova 0-1 -4
Nova just would need to beat St Joe's by at least 6 points to win their pod.

Hey, S-20
What are your thoughts on Georgetown? I watched a bit of the Hoyas vs. Rutgers game last night.
Curious.

Yup. And by the end of next weekend and all the exempt tournaments, that number is going to be much lower.

The beauty of college Basketball vs football - you can have great OOC match ups, and the loser isn't knocked out of the championship picture.
And the way the RPI is set up, the rewards for playing these games far outweighs the risks.

Seems that way. At least Georgetown outrebounded Rutgers. I was encouraged by that stat.
