Skull made some aggressive blocks Saturday. Here is one.

It's truly amazing to me that Skull is 3rd all time in rushing yards, 1st in all purpose yards, and 1st in receptions, despite having to play behind McBride until his last year under an offensive scheme that seldom throws it to the RB. What a story of perseverance and grit.

Proud of Skull's accomplishments, but don't forget that all career records for Covid players need an asterisk....five seasons > four.

The other side of that coin is that Skull only had one season where he wasn't the speed guy out of the backfield, behind UAB's two leading rushers all-time. His numbers are amazing when you throw that into the hopper.

Imagine if he played for a staff willing to utilize him to the fullest of his abilities for more than one year.

I said for the longest he should be used as a scat back

Do you really believe that you can evaluate a player's role better than professional coaches who are with the players on a daily basis on the practice field, meeting rooms and film room? What makes you more qualified than the coaches? He had success under both staffs. He should become the third player in school history to rush for more than 3,000 yards in his career. They didn't all come in one year. And the other two players are the guys starting in front of him during his career.

RE: On to Temple and Senior Day
The last guy that called plays for him is now at New Mexico…. Same guy got fired the last time he was hired by a non-best friend.

He’s had his best all around year this year, with arguably the worst OLine of his career.

9 yds a reception. I’d say that’s better use of the smallest man on the field than running him up the gut to go splat against the better defensive fronts.

It was comical to pretend he was simply a change of pace back. Trent had the most foolish game plan vs Navy and that would’ve been the same gameplan the previous staff would’ve used. For the most part, he’s used him in 3-4 different ways in every game. Jermaine would probably be looking at being a UDFA had he been used his entire career the way he was this year.

He is already looking at UDFA and might be a draft pick before it's done.

One can hope. He needs reps in front of scouts, but I’m afraid the down year for us is going to lead to a lack of SR/shrine bowl calls outside of Palmer. The last two RBs we have had go UDFA, can’t get elevated from practice squad. I don’t even know where Spencer is now. Hopefully Stallions pick him up.

Edit: lol, forgot Debo even got drafted. Play that man. Getting treated like a UDFA.

I believe the previous staff had favorite players I don’t think Spencer brown should have played over Debo. Debo should have started Spencer’s senior year. He was a much better athlete and had better vision and balance. As evidenced by his YPC.

Bingo and they were more worried about getting Brown his stats while he was injured than playing Debo.

Yes, yes he does. And that’s why I want him to apply for the position the next time it’s open. I want the best possible candidate hired and if he’s half as good as he thinks he is we will be in great shape.

As much as I harp on talent across the DL, we are having to create holes with smoke & mirrors this season. I can't remember feeling as uncomfortable when it comes to a team that can line up and push a defense back in short yardage situations. Of course, I've spent the last few years watching our beasts and Derrick Henry (Titans fan here) get the call with 2 or 3 yards to gain and I can go make a sandwich because I know it's a first down, so I'm spoiled.

Yes, coaching ain't as hard as some make it. It's the Jimmy's and Joe's not the x's and o's. He'll the best WR we've had to some just let the cat out the bag early this season as he ain't know nothing about coverages as a WR.

Our dependants on Skull in mi book cost us a bowl season. He good not special like Debo or early Spencer Brown before the weight drop.
