...with the coaching carousel cranking back up...
...do we see XHCBC making any apperances?
IIRC, he was supposedly a candidate for Miss. St. back when they ultimately got the Pirate... It would be an interesting 'reboot' spot - but I really think if/when he gets 'back' into it (pun intended?), it may well be a Sun Belt or equivalent level... hang out for a few years, THEN lobby for an SEC gig...
...OR, does he even get back into coaching at all?

The longer he's out, the more you think that's it for Bill. And that's fine. If we could finally FRW, he'd make a hell of an AD.

And then he can bring back Brian Vincent

I bought into the idea that Bill wanted out so that he could ease into another higher profile job without a lot of backlash...but the longer he's out, the more I believe he did it because it was truly what was best for him and his family. Just one more reason to admire the guy. Whether you're cleaning toilets or coaching football, at the end of the day its just a job and (hopefully) there's a lot more important things out there.

I was surprised so many people didn't grasp this. Yeah, it was stunning. But, yeah, HCBC was in pain 100% of the time and everything he had tried didn't work. He cared about his coaches and players (remember, he worked his ass off to get coaches new jobs and players new homes after the shutdown). People dog him for sneaking Vincent in, but it really was the best play. It gave the team continuity and didn't hand a coaching search over to ADMI with only 2 months before the season began (which actually saved Ingram time to search...whether the search was successful or not is TBD).

Bryant Vincent not welcome if Clark ever returns as UAB HC.

I actually saw Bill at our game against Liberty. He was sitting with the man he replaced here, Jack Crowe.
He’s only 55 so he’s got plenty of time left. MSU wouldn’t be a bad gig for him if he wanted another head coaching job. The last guy was making $3 million a year.
But I could see him hanging it up for good. He doesn’t have Jimbo money in the bank but unless he’s lived a lavish lifestyle he probably doesn’t need to work again if he doesn’t want to.

I'd say he sits out another yr to heal & take time w/ family but then itch will get him & it'll be at smaller school like FCS or SB/CUSA in the area to get back in the game.

Troy may lose Sumrall to State or some other P5 school by the end of the season.
South Alabama may lose Wommack as well.

The one I'm thinking of is Jax State whenever RichRod leaves.

Also, there may be some DC's or other defensive coaches that will be looking for a new home...

The school I would watch is Southern Miss.

Let Sione call plays for a series or two and see what happens. Who knows--maybe he really is an offensive guru!

Mortenson is on broyles award list for being a 1st half coach.
Seems Bryant Vincent has disguised himself as Mortenson.

What would our record be if we ended games at halftime? We'd have at least one more win and one tie with Memphis, right? And against memphis we left a minimum of 6-9 points on the field.
