RE: CUSA MBB Week #2
NMSU with a good WIN 76-71 over a decent Northern Colorado team.

Congrats!

RE: CUSA MBB Week #2
The Aggie's defense improved in the second half allowing them to come back from a 16-point deficit. With a completely new team dealing with off-season injuries, it will take us time to gel. We are probably a year away from contending but I see a lot of good players to build the program around in the short term. On to Cancun and Fresno State.

RE: CUSA MBB Week #2
Just from my eye test alone "right now at this moment" I would rank the CUSA teams as follows...

1. Liberty
2. UTEP
3. Western Kentucky
4. Middle Tennessee
5. Louisiana Tech
6. Sam Houston
7. New Mexico State
8. Florida International
9. Jacksonville State

Liberty is clearly hitting on all cylinders. And UTEP has a really deep rotation with a lot of athletes. But there is still a lot of basketball to be played.

There's no doubt to me that FIU and Jax State are at the bottom. As far as #1 through #7, I can see almost anything happening in these games.

RE: CUSA MBB Week #2
I’d say middle of the pack for us right now. Cam Weston was a major player for us so losing him after game two hurt really bad. I think if we had him we would easily be undefeated right now. I think we’re still a major threat and should be a good team. It really just depends how quickly our team can gel with the main guy that runs the offense out for the season. We’ve got a pretty tough OOC so we will find out quickly.

RE: CUSA MBB Week #2
Ranking Liberty as no. 1 is no fluke. These guys can ball. For them to beat a very good Wichita State team to shreds like they did is a thing to behold. Too many guns and it seems their little players just got new Eveready batteries. They run and they run and they run. The big guy is Nba worthy. I think they might just run through our conference like the football team has done. They'll be ranked pretty soon, bank on it.

As for Utep they have their first test coming up on Monday against Cal and we shall see how good they really are. If we can muster a win I can say that we will come ourt second, a far second to the Cusa version of Byu, Liberty. Man, aside from Byu I've haven't seen so many white boys in one team. That's one reason they resemble Byu so much. They can play basketball like them too. I really like this Liberty team and they'll be good for Cusa.

I forgot Weston was out. Okay, I would flip 4 and 5 in my rankings.

It appears we will beat FIU out of the last spot. Losing to TUNA isnt a good look.

RE: CUSA MBB Week #2
That game against Vermont was very entertaining. Both teams played good offense and defense. I love watching teams that actually run offense rather than isolation and clear out and that play tough hard defense.

Liberty wins the Myrtly Beach Invitational

61 Vermont (4-1)
71 Liberty (5-0)

Go Flames!

The poor SBC only has 2 of 14 teams with a winning record at this point. 6 of 9 CUSA teams have winning records. It's early but the separation is obvious.

We may want to use them as a measuring stick but the other conference members need to look at something higher.

The SBC should never be a measuring stick in basketball.

I haven’t looked, but who has each conferences teams played?
