DNR - Mettlen
I have to say that Shane Mettlen has done a great job covering our team. Digging in with those questions. We lost a good guy in Greg Madia but I feel like he’s gone above and beyond.

Mettlen is always on his game (not just football) and timely from what I’ve seen. I think we are fortunate to have him to tell the country our story.

RE: DNR - Mettlen
This is an overlooked aspect of athletics success sometimes.

DNR - Mettlen is bolstering his resume and options, if he wants them.

Harrisonburg - and throughout the Vallely benefit from hotel, restaurant, and other business.

Media attention & success - might sway students (especially out of state) to opt for JMU.

Also, all of the broadcasts and attention - offers juicy opportunities for our aspiring media students.

Mettlen does a good job. He has to be on cloud nine now that JMU football is the nation’s darling and basketball has shot up like a rocket to start this season. What better time to be a sports journalist than when the teams you are covering are kicking azz and taking names.

Shane has been killing it with the Sun Belt coverage, too.

Shane seems like a cool guy. Every time I have had a question for him or asked for his take on things, he has replied
(and not with a canned response).

Ditto. He never fails to chime in and respond when I engage in twitter. I guess I should pony up and throw a few bucks at an online sub. I’ll do that now.
