Cross Country at NCAA South Central Regionals
Tomorrow morning, both Rice cross country teams will compete in the NCAA South Central Region Championships at Fayetteville, Arkansas. The top 2 finishing teams from each race will advance to the NCAA Championships. The top 4 individuals who are not from the schools that advance, will be selected for the NCAA Championships.

The women will race 6,000 meters (~3¾ miles) at 10:30 a.m. CST. The men will race 10,000 meters (~6.2 miles) at 11:30 a.m. CST.

South Central Region home page. From here, you can click on Results.

Rice women come in ranked 10th in the region, and I would expect a finish anywhere from 9-11. Arkansas will win easily, but there could be a tight contest for 2nd, as Tulane, Texas A&M, SMU and Texas will battle for that automatic qualifier.

Rice men are ranked 8th in the region, but I could see a great race for them moving them as high as 6th. Arkansas and Texas will be the automatic qualifiers.

Rice women finish 10th - in line with their regional ranking. Taigen Hunter-Galvan completes a fine senior season with a 26th place finish. Amelie Attenborough was 39th.

Arkansas and Texas A&M are the automatic qualifiers.
