Post game interviews
If you guys aren’t listening to Dave Riggerts post game interviews after each football and hoops games…. you’re missing out.

Good interviews with Coach By and TJ and an absolutely GREAT interview with Edwards last night.

You can hear them on SoundCloud’s ESPN Harrisonburg page.

Indeed. Great interviews especially Edwards.

Absolutely. Riggert does a really great job. He makes the players really comfortable in the interviews and feel like you really get to hear their personality come out.

My first thought when they hired Riggert was, “who is this guy from a D2(?) school from Missouri? Ugh.” But he has been exceptional from his PxP to his interviews.

If you have time, it is worth watching these. I loved drinking Izzo’s tears last night. He sounded beaten down and drained after getting out-physical’d which rarely happens to his full contact hoops program.

Byington reveling in the glory. He needs to take a note from Cig and learn how to Party with discretion under the 24 hour rule.

Izzo's interview there sounds like he just lost the National Championship in April.

Or like a guy who’s questioning whether he could go through another emotional season of grinding.

I did find it ironic he complained a little about the refs. 03-lmfao

The bald ref was standing next to Izzo a good part of the game and they were talking back and forth quite a bit. (actually looked a little suspicious at times, lol) If anything I felt like we got a few ticky tacky fouls called on us and they missed some calls against Michigan State.

An interesting statement I heard one of the players say on the post game radio interview was that Liberty had beat them by 20 in their scrimmage with JMU.

That was Edwards I believe.
It had been kept pretty quiet before then (especially by Byington). Then the reference was made about how bad they looked in one of their scrimmages. Then he said something along the lines of 'well i guess it doesn't really matter now, but we lost to Liberty by 20.' He was laughing about it, but I don't know if that was something Coach By really wanted out there in the public.
Well, it's out there now!

Lol yeah he was talking about how much they've improved, how much Italy helped, and how bad they looked in their first scrimmages.

Regardless of the path to get there, that was the best performance I’ve ever seen in game 1 by a JMU bball team. They were crisp and ready to go out of the gate.
