WE LOSE 15 players from a 3 wins teams ,,come on guy only 5 players were good and even if we had win 10 games ,,those 5 players will be gone any way ...the rest 10 we can replace them easily

One of the highest amounts I’ve seen from a team that isn’t making a head coaching change.

What is your obsession with supporting Dilfer? With ALL the evidence to the contrary

That’s “losing 42 players”.

And that’s before Christmas break where family talks guys into getting to the portal before the 28th.

Then you have to worry about spring portal and fall camp departures before enrollment deadlines.

i am not obsess with the coach but we need to understand that we will not be able to remove him without the BOT approval and money


that will be the story of UAB every year if the portal exit craziness doesnt change

nfl team have 55 players ,,,, college football got too many players ....many of them will never play in real time aka important time in 4 years
UAB is not the only teams losing a lot of players
I dont count senior because senior need to leave , we will see how many UAB players will end up with a big time teams and get some playing time ,,,,my number is still around 5
Like I SAID we ARE losing 5 good players and it will happen with any coach at UAB

Just because coaching was bad doesn’t make all the starters we lost, expendable. Clearly, some schools saw our misused talent. We probably have not added 1 “for sure” day one starter in the 9 guys we’ve added so far. Not at serious G5s, anyways.

Now all of the Juco players getting their years back is going to make this even more insufferable and a headache to keep up with. G5 and most of college football has just become spring time, minor league, semi pro football. Then the upper echelons of P4 will be filled with all 300 draftees.

College football is dead and we made the wrong hire to survive the transition in which the Dumb people in Washington DC are co-signing on.

so far the suppose good one are not getting many P4 teams who play in a bowl game ....

Frenchy.. you can put your head in the sand and say otherwise all you want, but UAB is losing more players to the portal than other peer schools who did not have a coaching change.

There’s an obvious and clear correlation as to why.

What you’re saying doesn’t make sense when the numbers are right in front of you.

Several of our players have signed with SEC schools or other P4 programs.

Dilfer sucks as a coach and mismanaged talent badly.

I dont have my head in the sand ,,,,,even with the best coach that uab will have ,,,good players maybe 5 will leave every year , THE rest are not that great anyway
The Nil promises kill teams LIKE UAB and it will not ended until players figure out that it is only good for great players ,,,,,aka not UAB players

So far only zeno sign with P4 teams WHICH will go to a bowl THIS YEAR ,,,,what it mean ,,,those HC on P4 teams may be gone next year

We all understand the NIL impact mixed with the portal. You are right, that will never change.

That doesn’t mean what is currently going on at UAB is normal, or acceptable. Our entire athletic department is basically in shambles at this point, and the direction we are currently headed is not going to help that

Love ya Frenchy but we are losing more than 5 good players and more players than any other school except Marshall. When it is all said and done we will be losing between 45-50 players total. I agree in I don't care about the lower tier guys we are losing but we have lost some of our better players and replaced them with less talented lower tier projects. Thus far, we have not brought in one player better than the top players we lost. Not one. Now Dilfer and co may pull out a miracle and get 20-25 solid starters out of the portal and JUCO and I am hoping that is the case. Based on what I have see thus far we will be lucky to beat our FCS team next season. We could be starring at one win.

Trent should have been let go and we both know it could have happened. There was enough support among the folks that give more than both of us. A couple got cold feet. If he doesn't go bowling I predict both the AD and the entire coaching staff will be gone.

Our football program and athletic department has become a complete National laughing stock and it doesn't sit well with me. I can't speak for anyone else but this is not what I envisioned when I have invested my hard earned money in this **** economy.

Frenchy, losing 5 and losing 28 are two different things. Generally you only see that sort of number when a beloved coach is run off, see what happened at Marshall. That isn't what's happening at UAB.
