He's making the point that the poster in question is either negative or always critical, often both. Carry on.

Nah that ain’t it

He’s good at that. It’s either a bs political post or this garbage.

Aresco has done a lot to help us and the AAC.

Aresco deserves credit for keeping the payout consistent in spite of losing four of our top schools.

Let’s see what happens when contract runs out. I really don’t think it matter who is commissioner. Espn is pulling the strings. My issue with Aresco is his having the basketball tournament in Texas every year

I’m not sure what he deserves or doesn’t deserve, but the value of that payout has decreased markedly as costs of most everything skyrockets. It’s a sad truth.

Inflation gets us all in the end. Ultimately, after losing said schools, ESPN could have made the decision to renegotiate the contract. Aresco took the necessary steps to prevent that from happening. Last thing we need is less money, even if the money doesn't go as far as it once did.

I will never forget his statements and 'arrangements' (i.e. reffing) to engineer who won the conference.
It was so obvious.

o wait there's more. His insistence at making frisco texas* the home of our BB conf tourney....smh
*kickbacks

lol intresting https://www.espn.com/college-football/st...g-12-teams

Never said that I felt that Aresco was perfect, and I agree that there have been some moments where I've taken pause in regards to the "engineering" you're referring to. I also find it ridiculous that we continue to host the tournament in Texas where attendance has been so poor. Nevertheless, I do appreciate that we were able to get through the poaching without seeing a drop in revenue, and I give him credit for that.

Regarding collusion with ESPN to poach teams from the B12, it's a shame that didn't happen. It would have been the best outcome for us and the AAC.

RE: Okay the Tigers are competitive
The first thing Aresco did was lose us our only P5 membership ad he did it right away. The Big East left and took that with them.

He should have known they were ready to bail...or maybe he thought it didn't matter if they left. Maybe he thought he could manipulate his very own brand new Conference to power level. lol. From the start, he was
wrong.

o well..

Now he's left to flail about proclaiming his dislike of the P5 system.

And furthermore, I ain't rooting for them*.

"We are thrilled to be welcoming six new member schools, but I also want to recognize our departed schools – *Cincinnati, Houston and UCF* – who did so much to help build our brand and who were committed to what this conference was trying to achieve.... The three departing schools leave as friends, and we will root for their success in their new conference .... "

Back to the thread:

YES. We are definitely competitive this year. And I have the best feeling about our team's future that I can remember.

We were still a BCS conference after the Catholic seven left.

I will risk saying Dempsey and Price should remain fired.

I know the P6 campaign has been many punchlines.
But I tend to think it worked to a certain degree.
That is, the AAC just about always gets the G5 Access slot, we tend to have higher SOS rankings, and Cincy even got allowed to play in their little 4-man CFP invitational.
Much of that is perception and might include some (P6) bias.

I think it was a great campaign. It said "we know we're good enough to compete with y'all. Y'all just don't want to admit it."

Aresco has nothing to do with where we find ourselves. The Pac 2 deal and the coming, allegedly anyway, ACC raid is our last chance to get out of the G5. Those are last trains leaving the station. After watching a pretty good Ole Miss team just get dismantled last week you have to ask yourself, is the money worth it? College football has just become way to one sided and I think its bad for the sport overall. When the #2 team in the west just gets taken to the woodshed like that you gotta ask yourself, is this any fun? Without any strong organizing body its only going to get worse. WO parity fans lose interest at some point. Maybe the G5, who has more parity and lets face more interesting games can market itself as the real college football. Not the NFL with no salary cap.

It matters little to me and probably the majority of football fans that ole ms got thumped. In my heart I believe the 12 (soon 16) team playoff will have a very leveling effect on football. Some of the members of the so called P4 may choose to leave those conferences in order to compete for a spot in the tournament. It could happen if the champions of the top 6 conferences have guaranteed spots. I really can't wait for a G5 team to make it to the championship game after winning 2 or 3 games in the tourney! That might deflate the size of some of the talking heads.

I predict that zero teams currently making P5/4 money will voluntarily leave and take a pay cut for a chance to get in the playoffs.
