NAACP loses case against Florida
Voter registration signatures must be signed. Electronic signatures won't work.
DeSantis’ Florida Notches Federal Court Win Against NAACP, Other Advocacy Groups
Quote:On Monday, Judge Allen Winsor of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida approved a motion to dismiss a case that challenged Florida’s signature requirement, according to Florida’s Voice.
Groups including the NAACP and Vote.org, filed the lawsuit.
The groups sought to throw out parts of the Florida law they felt contradicted what’s known as the Materiality Provision of federal civil rights law saying state laws should not use “immaterial errors or omissions to deny the right to vote.”
Quote:Providing “original signatures” was restrictive and also disenfranchising, the groups claimed.
Winsor, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, said not all signatures are equal.
”Plaintiffs’ entire premise is that a copied, faxed, or otherwise non-original signature is equal in stature to an original, wet signature. But we know this not to be so,” Winsor wrote in his ruling.

Of course there will be appeals. But for now this decision is good news, and I believe the Supremes will eventually affirm.

under this court, it should be a no brainer … if = 1, it should be used in other states to combat (at a min) mailing out ballots to all on voter rolls (I think that count is ~10 states now)
again, “setting precedent” lives matter…
thank you, DJT and cocaine Mitch … this is where yaz selected, wisely!
