If you mean prior to 2021 then I'd agree. Indiana is paying him $4M to win a few games per year since then. This is a what have you done for me lately business model.

That's a losing record in 4/6 years; this year will likely be 5/7. If he hadn't had Penix, it very well could have been 6/7 or 7/7. He's likely performing right around IU's ceiling, but that doesn't mean you get to keep losing forever (even if you're losing a little less and a little less badly).

I think it’s interesting that he mentioned the tug of war between “pay the buyout to move on” vs “more money for NIL”. For Jimbo, that one is easy, we’ll keep an eye on things but NIL needs to be the priority. For some of the others, the buyout is extremely low.
