Point of emphasis #2 might be a problem for Jason Hooten's style of defense. As applied at Sam Houston, his defense used a lot of body contact (bumps, hedges, & rubs) to disrupt the motion of an offense. I guess this season, we will see how many fouls NMSU gets called for defensively.

Obviously egregious bumps should be called but the slight bumping and hedging is just part of the game. Sometimes I like the rule changes but sometimes they fly too close to the sun trying to improve every aspect. I hope refs aren’t too literal with every one of these changes.
Also wish they would take that stupid flop rule off the books where a player can be called for a technical. If a player flops then just don’t call anything. Let them slide on the floor leaving their team at a disadvantage and usually an easy bucket.
