Above is a Google Maps image of Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The parking area around the stadium is only for season ticket holders. You won't be able to pay for parking there.

The red outlined and highlighted area is the parking area where I will be set up for our tailgate. We don't have assigned tailgating spots, but anyone in the lot can set one up. They give us a decent amount of space. Look for the blue Ford pick-up with the American and UAB Blazer flags flying above it.

ARRIVING: You will most likely be coming to the game from U.S. 50/301. The exit that you want is Exit 24 for MD 70, Rowe Blvd. If you're eastbound on 50/301, I suggest that you get all the way to the right when you reach the Exit 24 sign and keep moving right after the onramp.


On Rowe Blvd. you'll head south towards Annapolis. Again, unless you plan on going to the downtown area, I strongly suggest you stay to the right.

PARKING: If you plan on coming to the tailgate, I suggest that you turn right onto Farragut Rd, which is the first intersection after crossing the creek. Two great places to park are circled on the map in pink and blue. I think they charge $25 for parking, CASH ONLY. From those parking areas it's a real short walk to where I'll be set up. Two other nearby parking areas that I know are Germantown Elementary School and the J. Albert Adams Academy (Glenwood St.). These areas are circled in yellow. I don't know if the Phoenix Academy does parking. I would expect that they do.

Should you decide that you want to park downtown, there are several lots and decks down that way. Follow the green arrow on the map. You can find these downtown parking areas on the "SpotHero" app. It's about a 25-30 minute walk from downtown to the stadium.

I'd appreciate if folks could reply to this thread if they're coming, so that I can get an approximate count. Some of the DC area alumni might also show up.

The game starts at 3:30. I will be setting up at around 9:30, which is the earliest they will let us into the lot. I suggest that you get here early enough to at least get into the stadium before 3:00, so that you don't miss the march on of the Corps of Midshipmen. One of the brigades is led by a midshipman from Chelsea, AL. After the national anthem, there will be a flyover by either F-18 Super Hornets or F-35 Lightning IIs. The corps will then turn and face the visiting team sideline and spell out "U-A-B" and tip their hats with a "go Blazers!" At least. I hope they get us right, because they called North Texas "Eagles!"

Anyway, I plan on having "Old Goat" chili (actually beef), as well as rice, cornbread, and fixins for the main attraction. It will be fairly mild so that anyone can eat it, but I'll also have Reaper powder for those who want to add heat. I know that virtually all of you will be travelling, so I'll have pretty much all we need for a nice little gathering, including Milo's tea and lemonade. Donations will be welcome, or if you're able to bring something, let me know. A bottle of Dreamland or Full Moon BBQ sauce is also welcome in lieu of a donation!

It was good catching up. The heat just got too intense for her but all is well.

It's looking like perfect fall football weather for Saturday's game in Annapolis!
