Mostly radio silence. However, in 150 minutes, will be playing Liberty. The FCS Championship game is Jan 1 in Frisco, TX. Delaware is solidly in the FCS Championship hunt, and playing a key, sellout game against visiting Nova.

Yes, finding a conference for the football team is the priority. That’s the only team without one. Pretty self-explanatory. However that doesn’t limit it to just football finding a new home.
It’s to my understanding that IF there is a move, it would likely include other teams.

Lots of positives to take from this week’s session, one being that Bamford has made it clear that his number one priority is to find a conference for the UMass football team..
...
It's sounding to me an awfully lot like they are trying to push the basketball boosters into focusing on which FBS conference they want UMass to be playing basketball in.
Nothing can be announced until after basketball season is over, because UD won't want to be locked out of the basketball tournament by their conference, so this is the time to lay the groundwork. If the A10 has a great NCAA Tourney performance with multiple bids, that's going to headwinds against the move in any event, but if it has another lackluster single bid year, that really lays the foundation for getting the basketball boosters thinking of CUSA as a parallel move in basketball.

To piggyback off this:
A healthy UMass football team beat our nations's current sweetheart, NMSU, on the grid.
Meanwhile the basketball squad lost at home to Harvard. Remind me what A10 membership is doing for them again?

Ya, too many missed free throws. But hearing not CUSA, but the MAC in 1 to 3 years.
Are we really expect to be independent for a decade or more. We've completed 8 years of independence. We need to smell revolution in the air.

UMass fans want any G5 conference. We don't care, just get us into a conference!!!!!!!!
There will be a sit down with the AD and Chancellor and we will hear the Chancellors vision.

I would say the MAC East is pretty good at basketball, but our out of state students come from the Atlantic Coast between Boston and Washington

The MAC is a regional conference. CUSA is a semi-national conference. I think CUSA makes infinitely more sense if UMass is angling for the AAC, because it’s like AAC Lite

I honestly forget who is in the MAC when it comes up. I also forget it exists . I don’t mean that like I’m crapping all over it because I’m sure they have excellent schools and sports. It’s just a very regional conference.

Wouldn't be surprised if UMass gets either a C-USA or MAC offer soon. If C-USA offered Delaware which has a nice endowment roughly equal to Liberty then it might offer UMass which has an endowment of roughly $500M. about 1/3 Liberty and Delaware. thing is: neither C-USA nor the MAC have flagship state universities like UMass but it is what it is.
The larger point is that within a few years the P5 or P4 or P3 are going to break off completely from the NCAA. Only Idaho dropped back to FCS voluntarily but that is because Idaho is a tiny state population wise and totally isolated.

"on the grid" or on the road? Is this a Vermont thing like on the grid or off the grid?
